On June 4, 2023 I brought my Mom to St. Huberts to adopt a dog. My mom (*************************) is 90 and wanted a senior small dog, they had one and even the vet tech came by and said it was healthy and ready to go. My mother wrote a check for $175.00 and she adopted the dog. Later that night the dog had a terrible cough and was panting excessively. They took it to their vet who did an exam, xrays and stated it had heart failure and lung issues and to take the dog back. They did and then I called and they apologized and would refund my Mom her money. This is now July 26 and she still has not received the money after I have called 3 times and tried to email them as well. All I want is for my Mom to get her refund check. My Mom is the official adopter ************************* and the check should be issued to her.

An offering to directly deposit the refund into the customer's account was made.  The customer opted out of that option and requested a paper check instead to mailed to their address.  The first paper check was "lost in the mail" we needed to wait the appropriate amount of time to be sure the check was not cashed, cancel the check, and reissue a new paper check.  The second check was issued and the customer chose to come to the Madison ******** to pick up the check at their earliest convivence. The  customer has at this time received their refund in full.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  It just took a long time and when the initial refund was offered by email there was no knowledge it was St Huberts it was seen as a spam email
