    I had a two night reservation with this Inn for Jan 3-5 2025. I had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency. I had prepaid the two night as is their policy. I called and spoke to the owner to change the dates. *** is the owners name and he said I needed make a new reservation and they would again need charge the card up front. There would be no credit for the missed reservation. I had previously asked if for some reason I had to change the dates would that be *************** is his email response to me on Dec 31:If for some reason we had to change the dates, is there any penalty for that? "Yes, $75 for anytime cancellation or modification. If new date is imminent, we may reduce or waive".He now refuses to honor that reply to **** would advise not to stay here. There are other reviews like this with the same outcome on ****** reviews and you can see mine as well that I just posted. The owner is unreasonable and militant and does not care what your circumstance are if you need to cancel within 7 days of the reservation.

    Customer booked a no-exceptions non-refundable, non-modifiable rate which he does not mention in his complaint. Our website's 2-sentence cancellation policy is simple, straightforward and in ******** language which I paste here: CANCELLATION POLICY. Please consider travel insurance to cover unknowns. There is a minimum $75 cancellation or modification fee per room; modifications are subject to Inn's sole discretion. At some point, your booking becomes non-refundable as discussed here. There are no exclusions and we do not give future stay credits.Prior to his booking, customer had called at least 8 times on this subject and others. We yielded and relaxed our very strict policy to a $75 cancellation fee. THEN, he NO SHOWED and NEVER CANCELLED, which rendered our "side" agreement null and void. His room ran vacant for 2 nights. He called to threaten us with a poor review which he quickly posted on **** and here it is as well at Better Business Bureau. Customer mentions "other reviews" on the same subject... yes, of customers who accept our terms, then refuse to abide by it. This customer was nasty, saying "I don't care if you are having dinner with your family" when I asked if I can call back. He is not welcome at our Inn.
