I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration with the service my family and I received at your clinic located at *** ********** ** ***** ** *******, NJ *****.

Our one-month-old baby required a hearing screening for her right ear, as her hospital test indicated a referral. When we initially made an appointment with your clinic, we informed the staff that our baby was covered under the mother’s insurance for the first 30 days. Despite this, we were assured that the appointment could proceed. However, upon arrival, we were told that the clinic could not use the mother’s insurance for the baby’s test. The indifference displayed by your billing personnel and the doctor, who remained in the back room, was beyond unacceptable. No effort was made to help us, and we were turned away without any consideration for our situation.

Determined to get the necessary screening for our baby, we immediately signed up for out-of-pocket insurance through the marketplace, securing coverage with ****** **********. After obtaining this insurance, I contacted your clinic again and was assured that ****** ********** was accepted, and a new appointment was scheduled.

On the day of the appointment, as we checked in, the billing woman rushed to inspect our insurance. She whispered with her colleague and returned to her desk. Shortly thereafter, she loudly announced across the waiting room that our ****** ********** plan was not accepted. This public and humiliating declaration, coupled with the lack of prior verification, demonstrated a blatant disregard for patient privacy and respect.

The behavior of your staff was not only unprofessional but also deeply disappointing and distressing. The lack of communication, empathy, and respect we encountered is inexcusable. It is evident that your clinic does not prioritize patient care or service, as shown by the repeated mismanagement of our case.

On 1/25/2024, I took my 7 yr old son for his annual comprehensive eye exam with Dr. Mayumi M He has worn glasses since age 4. I chose a new provider this year (then the one he previously saw annually) because this pediatric ophthalmologist is in my network whereas his previous doctor was not. I was sent an $800 bill for an annual comprehensive eye exam from this provider. After contacting my insurance company, I found out that this claim was denied because the codes used to submit this bill were "pure vision" codes typically used by opticians or optometrists. As **** ***** and **** ****** are "medical" insurance providers, this bill was not paid under my medical insurance due to the codes used by this provider. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor. Medical doctors are paid by our medical insurance, not ***** Vision. My insurance called to speak with Maureen (the office manager) twice to confirm that this was indeed an annual eye exam. Maureen did confirm this. When BCBS asked Maureen to resubmit the claim using codes which correlate to medical (as this provider is), she told them she uses the same 3 codes for every child that comes in and would not be changing them. Instead, she chose to send me an $800 bill! And, then hung up! Even after receiving calls from me and my insurance company a total of 4 times, this provider has not tried to resolve this problem. She is rude, disrespectful and leaves a whole lot to be desired.

On 5/3/23 a routine appointment was completed at Mainland Pediatrics, ********, with my infant. Attending physician was *************************. During the appointment, front desk personnel displayed unprofessional behavior and were inattentive. Attending physician also did not service needs of infant while she administered a routine booster or allow myself to comfort infant who was in distress. Behavior of front desk personnel has been observed/experienced on at least two other occasions in the past two months.

I was discharged from a medical practice because of a disagreement with a Doctor that was very unprofessional **************************** didn't listen to my complaints and told me she couldn't practice medicine on me if I don't follow her instructions. I explained to her about my rare brain condition that I have and she took no regard into understanding my concerns with certain medications
