They use quick release collars (aka choke collars) on ALL dogs of ALL ages regardless of temperament. Their methods are unnecessary and archaic. We were under the impression that they use positive reinforcement training. We met with the head trainer and proceeded to discuss our goals; which were off leash recall, prolonged stay with duration, and settling. Our goals that were never addressed. From the first day we dropped him off he was taken by staff on lead attached to his harness and brought out on a lead attached to his harness. At no point during the four weeks were we told that they would be using aversive based training methods. Its not in the contract or in any brochure. Every time we asked for updates or for details about his day, we were told to speak to the trainer or brushed off. We finally got his trainer on the phone, who gave us vague answers along the lines of teaching him to respect the word no. We chose to trust them and their process. At the end of four weeks, I finally meet his trainer in person and he takes me into the demo room to show me everything he taught our dog. HE TAUGHT OUR DOG NOTHING. He proceeds to walk around a room with our dog on a quick release (choke) collar showing how well he can walk on a leash. My dog already knew how to walk on a leash without being choked repeatedly on a snap and release collar. When I asked So how does this behavior generalize? Is the expectation that he will have to use that collar for the rest of his life? he had no real answer except to double-down on the choke collar.Had I known they were using that collar on my dog, I would have NEVER left him in their custody. I am absolutely disgusted by what I saw.The owner ****** called us to tell us we are wrong and that his 50 years experience outweigh the American Veterinary Medical Associations position and years of research: **********************************************************************************************************

Took our 3 month old German Shepherd Puppy for behavioral training. We specifically told the head trainer we were concerned in having him socialized. Our dog was afraid of people and would bark continuously. We told them we wanted to be able to have our family and our grandchildren visit. But our dog would constantly bark and back away from whoever. we also asked if they use a prong collar for training we were told no we do not use prong collars. We enrolled our dog for 4 week Training from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon. Each week we would inquire how he was doing because we were not seeing any results at home.. after the second week, our dog would give us a hard time when dropping him off for his classes. mind you we would never involved in any of the training we never saw what was going on. They were just take the dog and we would pick them up in the afternoon on the last week of training when it was time to show us what he was taught , they showed us How to walk him on a leash, having him heal on command. all he already knew by my husband teaching him at home. they never socialized him so he was the same nothing changed actually had gotten worse he still afraid of people and has some anxiety. It cost us $2700 a total waste of money do your homework. Do not waste your time going to Green Leaf pet resort its a beautiful place, no doubt. Dont let the beauty of this place fool you. They did absolutely nothing for our dog and ever since then weve been hearing nothing but negative views about. Green Leaf pet resort. I did put in a complaint somebody did reach out to me, but they werent helpful at all. anytime my husband would ask us. What can we do at home as he was being trained the trainer told us dont do anything at home. Just continue to do what youre doing. Let me handle it. You will have a brand new dog when everything is said, and done. Complete baloney my dog was worse they did nothing but take $2700.Wish I did my research before signing up
