      Im writing to express my deepest sadness and heartbreak regarding our family European vacation planned on April 19th 2020 (Quote# GT/209138) we had our first experience planning the vacation with your travel agent ********* ****** that helped us with our booking and planning and answered all of our for questions. Unfortunately due to Covid we had to cancel our vacation and take a travel credit $5,823 until it was safe to travel. We made a 2nd attempt at planning our dream vacation with travel agent ******* ***** in April of 2022 (Quote# ******) to use our travel credit for spring break but due to the civil unrest in Northern European had to reschedule to April 2023 (Quote# *******). We finally decided that since we had our senior visiting colleges in the spring and graduating in June of 2023 that we would need to schedule the trip for the following year because we needed the time to focus on her upcoming move. Sorry for the long letter but it was important to explain the timeline clearly. This bring us to 2024 with our 4th and final attempt on a family trip to ****** our travel plans were finalized on for July 2024 (Quote # *******) we decided to travel with ************** (my first time ever traveling with them) and booked my flight only to find out that it was scheduled a day earlier prior to leaving. I called my travel agent a week before my trip to let her know that the airline messed up our tickets and we would need postpone the travel dates. The airline help desk said that we would need to cancel and receive the refund before booking another ticket. I was told by my travel agent that I should wait until the changes were made and keep the hotel stay because things could change. Well they didnt, the airline refunded me for the ticket and asked us to rebook a more expensive ticket and our liberty travel agent told me that I could not change the date and we lost at total of $4,854.17. We were told that we would receive a $200 credit without resolution.

      We have received this directly from the consumer prior to this review and here is our explanation for your records: Thank you for allowing us to look into this further. We are deeply sorry for the frustration that has been experienced with your recent travel plans. Upon further review, the hotels that were booked were instant purchases and non-refundable. The airline tickets were purchased directly with the airline. Once we were made aware of the error, we reached out to the supplier to request date changes and/or refunds and, unfortunately, the hotel denied our requests. Unfortunately, due to the hotel's terms and conditions their penalties do apply. We regret that were unable to change their decision but have done all possible to assist in this matter.

      Our group of 4 booked a trip with Liberty Travel to *****/****** for 12 days in October 2024 leaving from ********, **. Our itinerary was pretty packed with many things we were looking forward to seeing. We did experience a few hiccups through no fault of our own. On 1 excursion the meeting place on our voucher wasnt the same as the email. So, of course, we were at the wrong location to pick up our bus for the days activities. The second problem was the event we had tickets to attend was closed due to a marathon being held there and no visitors were allowed to enter.Upon our return home, I forwarded our agent complete pics with our unused vouchers and the two different locations and requested a refund. ********* *****, our agent, never responded to my emails or calls where I left several voicemails. I believe she hoped time would pass and wed give up trying to get our cash back. Only after I wrote a complaint to management did we hear from her along with insincere apologies. Today, more than 40 days after my initial email to her and several calls did we get our refund for $583.00. The worst customer care weve ever experienced.

      Hello. My name is ***** ******** I have been trying to resolve an issue regarding the cancellation of a reservation with Liberty Travel at the Majestic Mirage.The problem is as follows:My parents, ***** and ******* ******, who are both over 80 years old, had planned to travel to the ****************** this weekend to attend a family wedding. They made a reservation from November 13 to 19 through Liberty Travel agency several months ago and had already paid for the stay. However, they were in a car accident in ********* and my mother was injured, so now they are unable to travel.Since the time of the accident, we have been seeking a favorable resolution for them. The hotel has refused the possibility of refunding the money or offering an alternative solution. The agency, for its part, informed us that they cannot intervene, since the stay was paid for well in advance and they do not have access to those funds. We have sent the medical documents and x-rays so that they can take into account the seriousness of the situation.We have the escalation emails that the agency sent to the hotel's reservations staff requesting a more favorable solution.The cancellation of the reservation was due to a force majeure: my mother suffered an accident in which she fractured her humerus and several ribs. She is in a delicate situation and cannot travel. We have the medical documents that prove her condition. My parents are retired and depend on their pension, so they cannot afford to lose the money from this reservation.Since it was a circumstance beyond their control, we are surprised that Liberty Travel is not representing the passengers in the way they should. Such a well known international company and doing nothing for these 2 retired people. We find this response unsatisfactory and lacking empathy.We would greatly appreciate it if someone in a position of authority could assess the situation and help us find a fair and reasonable solution for my parents.

      Thank you for providing us with the details and allowing us to look into this further. We do understand your disappointment and empathize with the situation that occurred. Liberty Travel has reached out to both the resort and transfer company to explain the situation and request a refund, on the customers behalf. The booking was within 100% penalty at time of cancellation. We were able to get approval from the transfer company regarding the refund, which we have processed back for the transfer service. While we have reached out to the Majestic Mirage and escalated the matter within the resort to request a waiver or credit for the cancellation, the hotel has denied the request. Liberty Travel is a travel agency that provides booking services to its customers. ********************** acts only as an agent. We book travel services for our customers with ********************** hotels, transfer providers, and airlines. The terms and operational decisions made by these travel suppliers are outside the control of Liberty Travel. We strongly encourage our customers to consider purchasing ********************** insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances such as these. While we cannot guarantee that a provider will waive their cancellation terms, travel insurance can often provide financial reimbursement for such situations. Please know that Liberty Travel has done what we can to assist in receiving this refund from the resort, but the hotel has refused our efforts. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any further compensation. We regret that we are unable to resolve this matter to your satisfaction.
