    Company refuses to refund my deposit after telling me to get the dress altered and now claiming I damaged the dress because I altered it.

    I provided my exact measurements upon rental and received a dress that was many many sizes too large. When I asked that she send me another one, I was told she did not want to pay the rush shipping and I should get it altered. I even agreed to use a seamstress that she chose (and hour from my house) in order to save her money.

    Much of our communication was via phone but some was via text. Please see the attachments. Please help me, I am so frustrated.

    I placed a rental order on August 18, 2024 for a M men's kurta in maroon. The company three days before my item was to arrive at my home for the August 30 event date texted me saying it was only available in blue and shipped it before I approved. Two days later a XXL blue kurta arrived. I immediately reached out via text, call, email, and chat feature on their website, thinking one of these must fall under the "24 hour customer service" their site promises. I never heard back from the chat, email, and their voicemail box is not set up. However, I heard back via text 16 hours later with an "oh sorry" response. They assured me I would get my money back once they received the item back, however, they did not mention in their fine print on their website that they require the outfit back within 24 hours. I had an event out of town that I had already left for, with the outfit remaining at my home. I mailed it back to them when I returned and once they received it they said they would not give me that full refund I was assured of. Glamourental owes me $90 ($70 for the outfit and $20 for shipping). I did receive my security deposit back but not any money for the wrong item that was sent.

    I placed a rental order for clothing and received an email after saying it wasnt available in the size I needed but that I could try a different item. The new item cost less than the original but no refund was offered. When the item arrived, it was much too small, though I had used the size chart. It was not folded nicely and it smelled of cigarette smoke and cleaning solution. Even if the item had fit, I would not have worn it due to the smell. I reached out to the company and they advised me to send back the dress. I received the delivery on a Friday; I work on Saturdays and was unable to get to the post office. The following Monday was a federal holiday so I was unable to send it back until Tuesday. The company refuses to refund me for the item as it was not returned within 24 hours, but that was physically impossible.
