      A charge was made to my credit card for a digital copy of my local newspaper. I have called numerous times in the past because my account was not recognized when I would try to log in to view the paper. Each time my account would be reactivated with a new password that would work for a maximum of 4 days. I gave up months ago. Now I found a new charge on my credit card. Called and explained the problem and wanted to cancel. Was promised they would cancel and issue the refund. That never happened so I called again. My account was canceled but she said she had to get approval for the refund from someone else. That person was not available for me to speak to so she said honestly there will not be a refund. I filed a dispute with ******** and they will reach out to Gannett. Do not deal with this company!

      The same thing happened to me that happened to ******* (****) S. I got a notice of some fraud on my debit card. I checked it out and they billed me $15.96 and $14.99 on 10/2. I did purchase a $1 subscription 8 months ago, but I cancelled it. I went onto the website of the newspaper and it said I had a running subscription I didn't purchase. The weird thing is it said it was $1 for 6 months and then $14.99 after that. I have no $1 charges on my bank statement besides the one I did authorized back in February. I don't know what is going on, but I cancelled the subscription I apparently have but didn't authorize and I cancelled my debit card. It sounds like they are going to keep trying this nonsense.

      A charge was made on my credit card, apparently, for some sort of subscription to the Gannett Newspaper Chain. I did not subscribe to any Gannett product. I called Gannett asking for a refund, but was informed that, due to my subscription to my local paper, prior to Gannett's ownership, a subscription to Gannett's on line newspaper was automatic. I did not agree to this. However,, according to ******'s phone representative, no refund will be issued. The representative did agree to cancel my fictitious subscription.**********

      Let me start by saying I am a long time reader and supporter of my local newspaper, and I am the third of my generation who reads it. When it was locally managed there were quirks and glitches usually in neighbor's stealing my papers but otherwise you had real people in our local city who you dealt with.Then Gannett bought them out. First time I dealt with Gannett it was for a surprise raise in my monthly subscription amount last year. It took some doing getting a person and at that time their phone system was more into hanging up on you than helping you. My bank stepped in and things were straightened out.January I received a call from a local seller who coaxed me to please give them another chance. He quoted a low monthly price and said it would start February and I'd get an email. There was no email EVER received. February nothing. Then this past weekend 3/6/2023 is today's date I had a SURPRISE! We're going to bill you for a freakin year! which I had to wait until today to call the 888-etc number for that was on my bank account entry. Their hours of manned call center are hideous on weekends for a national company. Man on the other end did NOT have a customer service voice. It was almost the total opposite and condensending. He was like, it's how we do things. No refunds. I'm sorry. Then after a few lines he said, here's what I'll do for you--I'll give you 5 extra days. This is not what I want. When it clears my bank's processing stage, this WILL be disputed. Do NOT give them a second chance. Do not give them a first chance. I WANT MY LOCAL PEOPLE BACK! I MISS THEM! They were sweet and kind and lovely to work with. This danged company has the heart of a turnip.DLL

      ****Business account**** ************* to ever do business with. Kept denying business card for multiple random reasons each time I called to see why it was denied, even though it should not have been. I was told the first time was because the incorrect name was in the system, the second time I called I was told it was because of an incorrect address, third time I called I was told the wrong card number was entered. I cannot with these people. Decided to cancel the card payment and issue a check. After weeks of still receiving emails that my account was going to be interrupted for non-payment, I called and was told the check was never received. Checked with the bank and lo and behold - the check was cashed, yet never applied to my account. I have been trying to make a payment since SEPTEMBER 2ND. Do not recommend GANNETT. Besides newspapers, they also have advertising, which is just as bad in the payment department. Did not credit my account properly, and keep talking about transferring funds from account to account to cover expenses???? If I send a payment for one account, why would another account be credited with that money. Never authorized payment transfers!!?
