      This storage facility was recently purchased from Public Storage. My husband and I have two units in the building, one is for my business, and the other is personal storage from our home, as well as some of my business items.
      I received no notice of the change, until I saw a change in the monthly charge. When I called to question, the rude employee said that the old contract was no longer valid and even though I had provided them with new renters insurance/coverage for the storage unit, they charged me for the insurance that they provide.
      I was not credited back the amount charged for their insurance on my business unit, and now they are not accepting the renters insurance on the unit that has been in place for the past two years, and charging us for their insurance as well.
      I have provided the information requested several times now and they are hell bent on refusing to accept it.
      Our renters insurance is attached to our lease, which expires on August 31, 2024, but renews monthly with the payment of the rent. I provided them with the declaration page, but they were not content with the expiration date, so they charged for their insurance.
      I'm not sure if this kind of scam is being perpetrated on the other renters of the establishment, but I personally will not stand for it. The insurance charge is $12 a month. My current renters insurance, which covers outside storage is $14.50 a month.
      My business insurance also covers outside storage and was offered as a solution, but they did not return a response to me about that.
      We have 2 units: one for business, that was originally $66.12 a month and is now $88.50 a month, and the other unit which is $71.44 a month, that we were charged $83.44. The business unit is smaller than the personal unit, but somehow I am being charged more for it. This is also questionable.
