Its Friday, August 5, 2022, my wife has an impacted bowel not sure if its severity. She had called nurse on call early in the day and also her proctologist, who could not see her today because he was doing surgery in the hospital. All sources recommended she goes to urgent care to get this diagnosed and treated. Before doing so, we tried an e**** at 2:30 PM, it didnt seem to do anything, however later we discovered that it did its job. But this was eight hours later in the emergency room.I first called family first urgent care shortly after 2:30 PM to see if they could see her. Weve been going there as needed for years with positive results. I explained to the woman who answered what was going on, impacted bowel, needed x-rays, may need treatment, I was told no problem, come on in. About an hour later after waiting for e**** results I called urgent care again and explained the same situation, I was given the same answer: come on in. We went a little longer to see if the e**** would work, it seemed to not work, and my wife is now in a lot more pain. I called the third time to urgent care to see if it was still OK to come in. It was ok she said. We being both handicapped makes it quite an ordeal just to get there, but we followed their advice and we showed up at about 5:30 PM. After checking in and sitting in the waiting room for a good 15 minutes, again my wife in severe pain, a girl came out and said that we cant help you, We have no doctor here only MAs. She said they can most likely take an x-ray but theres nobody here that can treat her. I was very upset that this happened after calling three times before coming in and being encouraged to come in. But then to find out that they could not help us. Why didnt they tell us that they couldnt see her on any of the three calls I placed. Finally the girl told us bluntly to go to the emergency room. We went home and called 911 for an ambulance. An ambulance took her to the hospital ER.
