    I started a membership at the business on 05/24/2024 with the intention of using their establishment My friend found out about a balance that he's been charged for almost a year for, while he was out of country and being charged to a non-working payment method. They told him it's with collections, or that he can pay them on the spot.Knowing this, I wanted to cancel because it seemed like they had a predatory contract that I was unable to see. I had been a returning member here for over 15 years, but due to the absurdity of the situation I stated my desire to cancel my membership. They told me that I would be charged for the following month, in the amount of just over $60, which baffled me. As they were processing my cancelation I was required to sign a document stating I agree to any charges in the upcoming 15 days. Upon my refusal the manager told me with a snarky condescending attitude that then they'll just continue to charge my card for my membership, and if I don't pay it then they'll send it to collections. I don't care about the initial fee on the day that I signed up, as I knew I would be paying the amount. What bothers me is that I will be paying for another month with no intention of attending, and the manager was extremely rude and I would like to resolve the matter without paying the ~$60 amount.
