Overall the process was a success and I was treated well by this company. Be careful because until the loan goes through underwriting NOTHING is guaranteed. FHA loans are not an easy kind of mortgage loan to get and they are way more expensive. Upfront it may not seem that way but be prepared for a longer than expected process. This isn't the company's fault. It's because of onerous FHA requirements partly as a result of the financial crisis of 2008 and Dodd-Frank. I was very satisfied with the results and working wi5this company.

The entire reverse mortgage application experience with Longbridge Financial went very well, no problems or issues at all, largely due to the exceptionally talented and competent service of Raymond Firetag, my Reverse Mortgage Consultant, and Christine Hubbard, my Retail Processor. I really cannot say enough good things about their assistance and teamwork in getting this outwardly intimidating process done quickly and efficiently. We can't say enough good things about Longbridge. We wanted to help our mom stay in her home but were nervous about the idea of a reverse mortgage. I don't know if ALL Longbridge Financial agents are the same, but I got the gold ring with Rick McClure and Jeanmarie Bostick. Every single question, regardless of how petty it may seem, was answered and in plain language.
Overall, I feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders and I have you to thank for this.
I researched 2 other companies and Longbridge had the best overall reviews.

5 starsMy experience with Consultant S****** **** was excellent during a difficult and trying Reverse Mortgage experience. The appraiser who is supposed to give a fair market appraisal of the property, decided to overstep his appraisal and mentioned an engineer was needed to inspect the foundation.This created a situation where I had to pay $1200.00 to an engineer or there would be no reverse mortgage! The 2 engineers who checked it did not find any structural problem!!!! Be careful who they send to appraise your property as they can cost you unnecessary expense and prevent your reverse mortgage. I was told this had not been seen before in 14 years of reverse mortgages. I was told the appraiser did not do us any favors by saying we needed an engineer to check structure. My bad luck?
