    ******** prepared my 2022 tax return. On or around August 6, I received a letter from ************************ (***), stating that there was an error in the mentioned tax return On August 8th, I went ahead and sent all documentation received from *** to ******** through email, and followed up immediately with a phone call to ensure information was delivered to them as intended. In addition, I sent text messages to *************************** to confirm the same. Both, ******* and his staff confirmed receipt and agreed to review the matter and get back to me as soon as possible. Unfortunately, and, as of August 21st, that has never happened. Attempted several times to get an update on my inquiry, but I was unsuccessful in that effort. Due to the lack of response from ******** associates, I decided to consult with another tax accountant, which discovered an error when reporting mortgage interest payments. Instead of reporting $9,219, ******** reported $245,582 instead, which caused an overstatement of deductible cost and understatement of taxes due to the **** The total owed to the *** is as follows:Tax due to error: $54,036.00 Penalties: $10,807.20 Interest: $11,553.69 Grand Total $76,396.89 I would like ******** to reimburse me for the interest and penalties incurred by their oversight and any legal and professional fees I may incur in this process.This situation alone is incredibly distressing and has caused me considerable anxiety.What exacerbates this issue, however, is the lack of professionalism and responsiveness from this office.All supporting documents were already submitted to ******** since August 8th.
