This company has begun collection activity to collect an outstanding balance of $223.91 supposedly incurred on October 30, 3024, One little problem here. I did not make this purchase nor was I even in their store at that date I was at home then.. I also did NOT buy anything from them online, in fact NOT EVER. This is not my obligation. I attempted to call these people, but they do not take calls nor do they accept messages. I communicated by e-mail on November 14, 2024, but received no response to date. I have also cautioned them that I am fully prepared to initiate litigation if necessary. I have an 800+ credit score as I pay any and all obligations on a timely basis. My creditors will attest to my prompt payment of any and all bills I incur. This is absolutely outrageous. At best, this is an error on their part. At worst, it is criminal fraud, on Auburn Vineyard's part. directed against an innocent senior citizen. I hope you will be able to get me satisfaction and put this matter to rest. I thank you for your time and hope to hear back from you in the near future.

It appears that Mr. ***** at some point had signed up to be a member of our "wine club" that we call our Wine CSA.  My guess is that he maybe did not realize what he was signing up for or decided at some point that he no longer wished to be a member.

The Wine CSA is very simple:  it costs nothing to join and costs nothing to leave.  Every quarter, we compile a case of wine to be offered to our members that includes special CSA only wines, wines from our cellar and new releases and the member gets 25% off the retail price of that case and any case they ever buy at Auburn Road.  In order to remain a member, all they need to do is buy  two of the four Wine CSA cases per year.  If they do not, their membership simply lapses and it costs them nothing.  Each quarter, we send the members an email letting them know what the contents of that quarter's case will be and what the price will be and notify them that a Square generated invoice will be sent to them.  If they wish to participate in that quarter, all they need to do is pay that invoice.  If they don't wish to pay it, they can simply ignore it.  We then have a big Wine CSA pick up party a few weeks later with wine and food for our members who come to pick up their cases.  We usually send a first invoice and two reminder invoices and if the members chooses not to purchase that quarter, we simply cancel that invoice.

At no time did Mr. ***** ever owe us money nor did we institute any collection activity.  In fact, we have never done anything like that to any customer.

We have removed Mr. ***** from our Wine CSA member list so he will not be receiving any further Wine CSA emails or invoices in the future.
