      Under no circumstance should you use this companys service. This company is no different than highway robbery. Multiple times in my 5 years of being a customer, theyd raise my monthly price with no email or call. I would write in to their customer service chat asking why. They would then give me a new rate for 12 months. Within a couple months, my rate would go up. Their response would be a promo you were under had ended. Despite being promised a rate for 12 months. I even gave them screenshots of their CS telling me Id be locked in for 12 months at a rate. Didnt matter. Im not sure how this is legal.

      Terrible customer service. On hold for tech support for over 30 minutes. Representative came on line for 5 minutes and said we had to be transferred to another support group but said we would not have to hold. Guess what, another 30+ minutes wait. Next person said they could only work with us for 5 minutes as they had lots of people waiting. This was all caused because they sent a new cell phone with zero instructions on how to set it up.

      I was happy with RCN for a year until they started to significantly increase my bill for a random modem rental increase WITHOUT informing me ahead of time. My bill went from $67/mo to $92/mo, again without my consent nor being informed. I switched to ******. I refuse to let internet companies overcharge and take advantage of me.

      I am not an Astound customer. After witnessing today's behavior by their representatives, I will never use their product. Their trucks blocked our alley at both ends. I was unable to get in or out of my garage. When I spoke to the (most likely subcontracted installers, they were rude, unprofessional and threatening. They lied about their right to block egress on both ends of the alley claiming to have a permit for the closure, when asked to see a copy of the permit to close egress in the alley, they changed their story and claimed to have a "work order". After speaking with them they all started laughing and followed me back to my garage and began taking pictures of our vehicles. What possible business motive would Astound (RCN) have for taking pictures of my cars? Their truck was unmarked, no company name. I attempted to contact Astound but could not reach a human being and could not leave comments without having an account. The same applied to their parent company. Clearly they do not want to be informed. Apparently Astound and RCN believe they are above the law and do not recognize the need for professionalism or customer service. Look at their ratings, that says it all.

      When Astound came calling, I was excited because they said they acquired WOW. My experience with WOW was amazing. WOW was I wrong. I didn't know they were owned by RCN. The internet service was sporadic at best. After several months, I gave up, cancelled the service and returned the equipment. Now they can't find the equipment. Thankfully, I have the ***** receipts to show it was returned.

      RCN did some upgrade to their system without letting me know so now my modem doesn't work properly with their internet anymore. Now I have spotty internet (it stops working every few hours for 5-15 minutes) until the new modem comes in. And when I called for help, I got one technician telling me it's the modem and another telling me that my modem should be supported. If you are going to mess with someone's internet that they are paying for, you need to give them advance notice. I would have purchased a different modem earlier but there was no warning, even though they know exactly which modem I own because it's registered with them. I only stick with them because they are dirt cheap compared to other internet providers.

      Ive had this service for two months 30 days ago on a Thursday at 8 PM. The Internet went in and out every two minutes for four days straight until they fixed it lo and behold the next month on a Thursday at 8 PM. It started this whole process again I had ******* for a decade with zero issues The timing and consistencies of these outages tell me that this is planned somehow there is no way that just happens both times on a Thursday both times at 8 PM the same exact way

      This is my second time using RCN/ Astound both times have been bad . I called the customer service line was greeted by a woman as normal. I waited 45 minutes on a hold to be told theres nothing they can do to disconnect my service. I asked them why they cant disconnect. They said they must attempt the disconnect after the next billing cycle stating that they must attempt to charge my card once more before they can disconnect. Essentially refusing to disconnect my service at my own will. Ive been charged for the past three months for service that I havent used since February. Its May now. Ive since switch services but cant get my service disconnected from Rcn because they refused to disconnect it until they can milk my account for one last month.

Disconnects can be placed at any time, though internet-only accounts can only be disconnected at the final date of the billing cycle. For example, if your billing cycle's last day was May 27th, and you requested a disconnection, that disconnection could only take place on May 27th, or the 27th of whatever month of your choose. You can place a disconnection request via our live chat at ******************************.       Internet connection is terrible with Astound and goes down randomly for no reason. My bill jumped by $35 dollars without warning which prompted my shift to Xfinity for now. They tack on all sorts of fees.

      Bad customer service on the billing issues side. They do not work with new customers with payment arrangements for 6 months and do not advise new customers of this at time of installment, I was given 3 different figures to pay and they would not work with me for 3 days to pay until pay date. Very, Very, not happy with Astound service I am looking for a new service provider.
