Website is very deceptive, doesn't give all choices for internet only plans and pricing available in-service area requested. It only gives you 2 choices to choose from with order only options. To get a phone number to call them you have to ****** that information separately which gives several and all are directed to the same phone bank. When you call any of those numbers you get 2 choices to order new home or business service. No sales help choice. When you ask for new home service, you get a representative who asks a dozen questions that must be answered before they can assist you. Like your full name and your phone number before they can or will assist you. Why is this even necessary when you are only shopping rates? When all I am asking for is for pricing information that fits my budget as well as my computer needs that is nowhere to be found on the website for my needs. Representative does not listen. I get that they are salespeople. After arguing with them for several minutes to get them to understand regarding my needs only and becoming very flustered somehow after all of that they try to assist in getting you different deal very poorly. When you hang up, they call you back. I guess there expecting you to answer and now will try to make whatever sale they can at this point. Maybe they will understand and meet your needs if I would have answered. Most all internet providers have services and prices easy to navigate on their websites. Seems like this a bait and switch operation and just a very shady business.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Astound's internet service was reliable while I was a customer, but the cancellation experience was frustrating. When I called to cancel due to a price increase, I gave a specific disconnection date four days later. I was not told that cancellations could only happen at the end of the billing cycle.When I called back to confirm, I was suddenly informed of this policy, leaving me stuck paying for two internet services. Had I been clearly informed from the start, I could have planned accordingly.The lack of transparency and empathy from customer service was disappointing. Customers deserve clear communication, especially when it comes to billing. The service itself was solid, but this experience left a bad impression.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starThe price gauging by this company is insane. They know they have a monopoly in the area so they can charge whatever they want. Every year the base price increases exponentially as well as the taxes and fees. The customer service is extremely unhelpful and unwilling to offer any solutions. My increase was nearly 40% and they say there is nothing they can do to lower the price. I finally got a small discount that was aid to apply for whole year but my bill this month was back up to the original price. Tell me how I started with this company at $40 and am now being asked to pay $100+ per month for just internet??? Ive been a loyal customer, always pay on time, and its a shame they are treating customers so poorly. These are really shady business practices. They are just hoping no customers will notice the increase especially if auto pay is set up. They really should be ashamed of themselves and judging by the terrible reviews here, I am not alone in thinking this. Shame on Astound!Review fromMary W

1 starI have an issue with my service that is not their fault, but I do need a technician to come out immediately since I work from home. They told me someone would reach out. Nobody ever did. I asked them to expedite it. Nobody ever did. I reach out again and they tell me I have to wait ***************************************************************** to check back later. I check back later and they now tell me a 72 hour time frame, they never scheduled my appointment. I asked what happened to my other appointment and the *** told me to hold on and then disconnected the chat!!!! Then they tell me its a 45 minute wait again!!! Unbelievable. So unprofessional and uncalled for and the *** just kept trying to basically circle talk me the entire time and never actually accomplished anything. His name was ****.Review fromKyle C

Astound recently changed it's cable boxes that created a major problem for people with Alzheimers and Dementia who have trouble using the there Tv remotes that have a number of buttons that confuse the person. This change makes it impossible to be able to use special Tv remotes that have three simple buttons that helps these people to be able to enjoy their Tv having very little else to look forward too and any other after market remote to be used.This change has effected entire nursing home that my family member residesAstound Broadband powered by RCN

Ive had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Astound Broadband. I was misled about the cost of the service, and when I wanted to cancel, the company refused to let me do so without paying one whole additional month fees. Their customer service is unhelpful and evasive, and the whole process feels predatory. I feel taken advantage of and would like this to be resolved fairly. I am simply seeking cancellation without penalty and a refund of the unfair charges. Those unfair charges include a late fee + an autoenrollement failure fee, all because my credit was updated and they couldnt withdraw the money on time.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

My roommate and I changed the name on the account to my name. The entire experience was horrible. It took 2 hours to get the name changed through 3 different ***** I then spent another 4 hours over 2 days trying to negotiate my rate down from $140 for internet only. The majority of ***resentatives were unhelpful and rude. They seemed annoyed they had to assist me. One ***resentative spoke over top of me the entire time (2 different conersations). As a result, he offered me a discount and then had to retract the offer. He then tried to say I told him my roommate was moving out which was not true. He stated that was the only way I could get my rate lowered. One ***resentative on chat states I would have to cancel service and come back 60 days later as a new customer to receive a lower rate. I then was forced to drop the speed on my internet to make it affordable which may impact my ability to work from home. I asked the last *** to connect me with customer retention and was told their department is customer retention. I have used ********************** in the past and have asked to renegotiate my own bill and my parents' bill as POA. I have never been unable to renegotiate my bill. I am now researching other internet providers. The entire experience was unacceptable. I have never witnessed such rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional customer service as I did those 6 hours. You here one thing in chat and another on the phone. But, depending on who you speak to. Whether or not the *** is honest or not. Astound is claiming payment was rejected on the due date. I'm an auto pay customer. A notice was sent to me the night of due date, couple days ago, claiming isssues that have nothing to do with rejected payment. There was no rejected payment. I spoke with Astound ***s same day and first one said she would redo the autopay. She would delete it and then redo it. She claimed there would be no additional charge. After she finished she said she took care of it and they would only take the amount that was initially due. This was still June 3rd. I spoke with another *** and the *** assured me everything ws going the way it was supposed to. She said the system had an issue and that the prior *** processed the payment as promised. She said she sees I have auto pay so that was a system issue. She said there was no issue on my end because there was no rejected payment fee on my account and it showed the payment as processing because it says my due balance is zero and I didn't owe anything. I also checked on screen and it was in fact as she said. The payment even showd posted on June 3. I checked the next day and yesterday and didn't see anything odd. Today I checked the site page and saw everything changed. The initial amount was back up as a balance. Auto pay was not enrolled. A *** claimed the payment was rejected. Which it wasn't. She then claimed that I have a rate increase on my account, which I had not prior and wasn't informed of this. This is a way to not only get initial payment from customer. But a supposed rejected payment fee and if you're auto pay enrolled, they will automatically deduct all the charges they created along with next month's bill. The *** kept going in circles not responding honestly to the issues. I was told to contact my financial insititution, which I did and there was no rejected payment.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

Under no circumstance should you use this companys service. This company is no different than highway robbery. Multiple times in my 5 years of being a customer, theyd raise my monthly price with no email or call. I would write in to their customer service chat asking why. They would then give me a new rate for 12 months. Within a couple months, my rate would go up. Their response would be a promo you were under had ended. Despite being promised a rate for 12 months. I even gave them screenshots of their CS telling me Id be locked in for 12 months at a rate. Didnt matter. Im not sure how this is legal.Astound Broadband powered by RCN
