    We contracted ******** Architect, LLC because our builder referred us to him. We brought him the plans we found on the internet and wanted a few minor tweaks. The architect charged us the full amount as if he designed the house from scratch and it took him a good 8 months to send us plans.He didn't provide elevations for the interior as that would be an extra cost. He said he would have to send out for this request since he didn't have the knowledge. In his contract, it states he would make (3 minimum) field observations - to date, he's only made one 5-minute drive by. If he had made an actual site visit, per his contract, he would have noticed discrepancies with the plans. Because of this, our house isn't what it should be. There were changes made by the builder that should have/could have been avoided. So far, nothing has been built correctly - even though the township said we should have these things according to the plan. The garage height has been decreased by over a foot, we found out after it was completed, there is no arch on the balcony and the storage room was not built because the builder refused to do it. The builder does things and the architect backs him up because they're friends. We find out too late after there's nothing that can be done to correct them. The architect claims he is available anytime we have questions, but we've only been able to speak with his secretary. Clearly, he is not a qualified architect; we only hired him because of the recommendation from the builder. When we drive up to Raritan for a meeting, he only talks about himself and his Air Force days. Nothing regarding the building of our home.
