    Poor quality web hosting, somewhat aggressive tactics after cancelling service.I finally got fed up with the poor service I was receiving from HostDepartment, so I subscribed to a different hosting service (which is immeasurably better - I never have problems uploading files now). I notified HostDepartment, and removed all my files from their site. I did not expect a refund of my unused months (it would have been nice, but beyond what I expect from this company), so I just let the account lapse. Fortunately, I deleted all my credit card information. Despite have told them I had discontinued use of their service, as it got closer to the renewal date, I started getting emails telling me that I did not have a valid payment method on file. Each time, I replied stating that I had closed the account and to please stop invoicing me. Each time, they ignored my request, and yesterday I received an email saying "This is a billing notice that your invoice no. ******** which was generated on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024 is now overdue."So, after experiencing repeated problems with accessing my site while I had the account, I am now experiencing rather aggressive attempts to make me pay for a service I cancelled. Be warned.

    Host Department used to be a good company and a valid web hosting service.The quality of the service has deteriorated over time and the only association I have left with them is a domain registration.Now their support is almost nonexistent and they refuse to answer any further emails after an initial one. I want to transfer my domain registration to another service but they claim I made a change and it can't be done for another 90 days. I made no change to the basic information for my account.This company now deserves an F minus.

    TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICE! They don't have a functioning Help Desk. They don't respond to emails or even messages on social media. My account has been suspended for 3 weeks for some glitch in their system and it hasn't been corrected at this time. They are slow to act on any requests. Not worth the hassle.
