Took my kids to the dentist for a cleaning on 12/11/24 and at the end of the services was informed that they did not accept my insurance and had to pay $1,135 out of pocket.

Back in early December I called and asked if they accepted ***** **** and they said they did, but informed me that they would submit the claim and I would get reimbursed. That itself was not an issue for me, especially with all the raving reviews. I scheduled my appointment and was asked to bring my insurance card to the appointment.

Today, 12/11/24, i was sent paperwork for both kids. Included was a section for insurance, which i completed. Upon check in I asked if they need to see my insurance and the response was that since I filled all the paperwork they did not need anything from me.

Proceeded to take us to the back and asked when the kids had x-rays last and i said i had to check because it was before we moved. The dental assistant asked me if this was a new insurance and said they covered once a year so they could just do them today, did not think anything of it and told them to go ahead. They did great with both the kids and upon finding a cavity on my son, I told them I'd go ahead and scheduled that.

Proceeded go check out, and schedule the appointment for both, their 6 month check up, and for my son's cavity. I was given the total for the service and handed my card. Then i was provided an estimate for the fill and it showed $1,155 and nothing in the insurance estimate column. When I asked why that was, they told me that it was because they did not take insurance, and they only did it as reimbursement. I was already worried, but that made me panic and I asked how I would be reimbursed and she said they would send it over to the insurance. She then asked me for my card and when I handed to her she said "oh, you have what is called and HMO plan, and we are out of network and not covered, so I don't need to bother sending".

I froze, said thank you and left
