    On October 3, 2023, I contacted Romero Family Medicine in Albuquerque to make a first time appointment over the phone. I was told they would charge a mandatory $75.00 charge, in order to make the appointment, and if I did not cancel the appointment and missed it, I would lose the $75.00. If I cancelled it before twenty four hours, they would refund my $75.00. I called to cancel the appointment after changing my mind and finding another provider. They told me they would refund my $75.00. After looking at my bank statement, I realized I was charged $77.96 and no $75.00. However, when I called them to ask about the higher amount, they said it was a credit card transaction fee that they could not return to me. I lost $2.96 and they did NOT tell me anything about a transaction fee when I initially was charged. They would not return my $2.96. This is deceitful practice.
