In the estimate process, all went well until the following occurred. I was sold, all ready to sign on the dotted line. Legacy Tree Company offers a $200 discount if you pay the 10% down payment on the estimate. I was prepared to do so until the "gentleman" explained that the 10% down payment was nonrefundable. Please note that, by definition, this is pressuring the customer. I would have forgone the $200 "discount" in order to have a chance to read the contract. When I questioned that I would not have a chance to read the contract, the person explained that the nonrefundable portion was for the cost and effort of their scheduling procedure. It would take 5-7 business days for them to schedule the work. It was now early December and the work wouldn't be performed until spring. When asked if that made sense, I said no. I started to explain my objection when the "gentleman" cut me off because he knew what I was going to say. When I asked the person to tell me what I was going to say, he refused. I said that I felt pressured and didn't appreciate the business practice. He said he wasn't pressuring me. I indicated that he doesn't get to decide when I feel pressured. He said they refused my business and left. This was a lose/lose situation and would like to warn any potential customers about this business practice.

It is true, we do ask for a non-refundable depost if a client decides to move forward with a quote we give them. This "business practice" is standard in many service industries and we stand by it. We state this clearly in our terms and conditions and are up front about this. This isn't used to pressure sales, and it is not a secret. Legacy Tree Company doesn't not want to do work for anyone who is unsure about their quote.

By definition, giving a $200 discount to provide a nonrefundable 10% downpayment without reading a contract is providing pressure.I didn't have a problem with the quote. As I said, I was ready to do business but would forego the $200 "discount" in order to have time to read the contract first. No, it is isn't common business practice to encourage customers to pay a nonrefundable 10% without the opportunity to read the contract first. You don't give your customers a chance to read your terms and conditions or the contract first. That is my objection.. Yes, you are up front about it and I was up front by saying I felt pressured. I never said your nonrefundable 10% was a secret --- it seems it is your contract that you are trying to keep secret. I don't want to pay someone thousands of dollars without reading the agreement first and have at least 24 hours to think about it. Especially when you require 5-7 business days to schedule without giving me the same *********** the way, 9/10 customers will walk rather than explain their objections. That 1/10 customer is invaluable. Yet, you chose to walk away. In the end, I agree that it is in my best interest that we do not do business. I just wanted other potential customers to know my experience in dealing with your staff.

What a good feeling we had dealing with this company! It is so wonderful to know that there are still exceptional businesses out there. They are not the cheapest. Ive been down that road before! The crew showed up on time, did everything they were supposed to, and explained everything. Crew was super nice, too!

Knowledgeable, on time, hard working crew who you could talk to and make suggestions. They did the job promised, delivered the products in our contract, finished in a timely manner and were personable and friendly. Once the root/stump extractions and planting was done, they cleaned up perfectly to complete the job promised.

Called for help saving our tree that is well over 50yo. Joran and **** came out. Joran is a master cert arborist who was so patient, helpful, kind and truly cared about our trees. Answered every question. He made recs for irrigation that ***** took care of and trimming (that ******, Theo&JJ masterfully and carefully managed). I feel confident that our tree has the best chance to survive with the care given by Legacy ******** I know they truly care about the welfare of trees. ****** (also an arborist!) did a great job of trimming the mulberry in the back, taking care to leave him natural to recover from the prior lion tailing another company did. **** did such an amazing job hand trimming our 50yo tree of his dead limbs; spending so much time meticulously caring for the tree. So very grateful. It was truly a team effort, very professional and labor of love. Well worth the wait. ***** and ** worked between the entire project. I know I can call with questions and I will have them answered. This is not just a job. Theyre like tree doctors. So grateful. Set up, clean up were excellent. Plus they wear safety helmets and belts (they take their job and safety seriously which puts my mind at ease as home owner when theyre up climbing our trees). Will be using them again in the future. Thank you, Legacy tree company!

Legacy Tree Company did a great job. The folks who came were very pleasant - very professional. They exceded my expectations. Everything I had contracted for was done completely and all the questions I had about how to care for the tree in the future were answered. Fine job and fine clean up.
