I had rented a condo in Angel Fire from Resort Properties from 9 July to 28 July for $2000. The property had no ceiling fans, 2 tiny windows in the bedroom ( one which apparently was never supposed to open ?????, the other broken with a note affixed that said” this is broken , do not open”.Sooo,no moving air whatsoever ??
Called Mngmnt and they sent out a nice gent ( ****) with 3 pedestal fans - even with the fans , the temp at bedtime was 84 degrees ??Checking into the Lodge at Angel Fire , the young man said :” Some of these places were basically built for ski season “??This bldg ( Mountain Spirits) certainly was - cozy at -10 ; suffocating at 84 with no air movement .
I turned my keys back into Resort Properties the next morning , and **** ( owner) said in a cavalier fashion” Well , it was 80 in our bedroom last night” ( I should have said that he probably had a ceiling fan , or at least some windows to open for relief)- when I returned to unit 304 that morning , the temp was 80??
He went over with me , walked into the bedroom and said , “ Well, I guess you aren’t just used to this like we are ????????He also stated that there were others in the bldg which was true - but Methinx they must have been aliens from Roswell who same up to the mountains in July - and aliens ?? don’t need air????He did say that he would try to find another place ( an associate in Resort Properties named ***** had already the day before that there were none- am sure that might have been a patchwork of places if at all . ( I had also noted that the windows at the end of the hallways were all locked , and ***** ( ****’s wife ) had said “ probably HOA”.
I had looked forward to a 3 week respite from the heat of Texas to update my will , listen to Celtic music, read mystery novels - my husband was flying up for the last week, and we were to have his birthday dinner in Taos in 25 July with friends he used to work with.
Just a mess all the way around - place was like a tomb??????

      BBB of New Mexico,

Ms. ****** rented one of the condos we manage in Angel Fire.  Less than 1% of properties in Angel Fire have AC.  No condos in Angel Fire have AC.  This summer daytime highs have reached the mid to upper 80s.  This has led to higher temperatures in all Angel Fire properties.  This condo community is very popular year round in Angel Fire and this was the only comment we have received from a guest regarding temperature.  Per our rental agreement, reservations are non-refundable within 60 days of arrival.  While we have no contractual reason to provide any compensation for Ms. ******** early departure, as an act of goodwill we have refunded Ms. ****** 50% of what she paid for the condo.  It can take 7-10 business days for the credit to appear on Ms. ******** card.

      Thanks,

      Resort Properties of Angel Fire
