    Please note the hotel is now operating under ***********, same owner, Viegas Hospitality Management, LLC.Surprisingly bad experience, probably best to avoid this hotel. Proprietor created his own policies not consistent with the industry or this chain. He along with his staff were rude and very unprofessional. He called the police to file a trespass against me because I challenged two of his policies. This was a tyrannical power plan, unprofessional, unnecessary, and a waste of tax payer resources. First policy challenged placing two charges on my credit card, one for the hotel (which was above the amount from my reservation), and the second a security deposit that was refundable upon checkout. The second policy was that no one could be in your room unless they were part of the original reservation. I would have been fine to pay a fee when checking in had the option been presented, instead the desk agent told me my wife and kids were not allowed to stay in the room because I did not include them in my original reservation. Also waiting until after charges were placed on my credit card to pull out a paper disclosing this policy was shameful and unacceptable.I was within my right to object to the policy and ask for a refund. The proprietor could have resolved the issue by simply doing so. It took a call to ************ customer service (who apologized and expressed remorse for the treatment) and the police officers he called on me, to convince him to do so. It is worth mentioning I received no charges/citation, not even a ***** warning from local law enforcement. The officers were very helpful, professional and kind.Unfortunately, this bad experience is a blemish on the community of other Aztec businesses. It is not their fault, but the actions of one affects many. In this case Farmington and ******* benefited from my familys daily spending of Approximately $500 a day. Look at the reviews, the community should really work to resolve this disservice.

    If I could rate this hotel a zero I would. The front desk clerk/ owner treated me like dirt the minute I walked in. Told me I was acting suspicious because I questioned a fee he was trying to charge me when it clearly never stated this charge on Expedia. After driving 8 hours and to get denied the room that I already had paid for and not returning my money, that is criminal behavior. After reading more of the reviews on this motel I have learned that I am clearly not the only one this has happened to. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. He treated me like I was not good enough to stay and also he said he didn't rent to locals when my license clearly said that I was not local. All the way around this hotel should be reported for stealing.
