    We needed an overnight stay on our way home from Colorado to Oklahoma. We called this RV park on 6/23/2023 & left a message requesting a reservation. Our call was promptly returned within an hour, the reservation was made for 6/24/2023 & we gave our credit card for the charge of $45. On 6/24/2023. when we were about an hour from the campsite, we received a phone call from the camp site stating that their system was down & they couldn't charge our card & we would have to have cash of $45 on hand to pay for the site when we arrived. We did not have enough cash on hand (& did not want to pay multiple ATM fees from the ATM & our bank) & decided to cancel our reservation. There was never any information given regarding cancelation policies when reservation was made to include no emails, no texts & this company has no website. The company then processed the charge of $45 anyway to our credit card the following week. We have attempted to call them twice, with messages left both times, requesting this charge be credited back & a return phone call to notify us. We have received no response & no credit back to our card. We have begun the dispute process with our credit card company but wanted to make sure to report this company. It appears there have been others this has happened to as well based on reviews that we unfortunately didn’t see until after it happened to us.

    When she originally set this reservation, I went over our policy and made it very clear to her that there is a no cancellation policy here. Once the reservation is set, they are obligated. We offer our customers to trade out that date for any available date for up to 6 months. I called them and let them know our credit card machine was done and it'd be cash sales. She said that was fine and that they had cash on hand. I told her if the credit card machine comes back up in the meantime, we will charge the credit card machine and we wouldn't need the cash. It came back up so we had the intention of telling her she could hold the cash when they got here. They didn't show up and we couldn't get ahold of them. She was only charged once by credit card. We never had cash in hand. Our policy is no refunds.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Unfortunately, none of that response is accurate or truthful. There was no mention of a cancellation policy on the phone, in a email & this company has no website; we were never told they would attempt to charge the card if the system started working again & they have never called us back. I will continue to dispute the charge with my credit card company & I have already posted reviews online to warn others about this deceitful business practice. There is another review online about the exact same thing from this company-it’s too bad we didn’t see it before they took our money too.
