We purchased a brand new mobile home, the company works with RC Mobile Transport to set homes. We have had delay after delay with RC Transport. They are in charge of getting an Inspector(state) to Inspector our home and finally our set up. Our brand new home has been sitting there set up and empty. We can not move in until inspection is completed. We have children in school and having to be out of our home way longer than expected is very stressful. We were told last week by RC Transport that this week was the week they would have state Inspector coming. We still have not even been scheduled for an inspection per words of office ladies at RC Transport. This has been the worst experience.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/03/2025

In response to the complaint by Mr. & Mrs. ********, we are very sympathetic to the consumer’s displacement during the construction process.  There are several State and County requirements landowners must meet prior to being able to install a manufactured home. These requirements affect contractor ability to obtain installation, placements permit, and inspections. Although we pull the permits for the installation, all contractors that work on the home must sign off and accept the scope of work performed before an inspection can be submitted.  The ********’s passed the requirements on November 26th,  to meet State guidelines to begin the installation process.  We were able to begin the installation on December 2nd, 2024, due to weather and the holiday. The electrician they hired notified our office on 12/9/2024 he had completed his portion of the work and signed off on the permit, the inspection request was submitted to the State of NM on 12/9/2024.  The state of NM attempts to complete the inspection within 7-10 business days.  Often the state may take longer due to shortages of inspectors.  Contractor’s have NO control over local, county, or state agencies schedule, unfortunately they notify till the day of inspection or the day before the inspection, when it shows from submitted to schedule on the state portal, which we check daily.  On the day, the ********’s called this was explained that it was still in submitted status on the state portal and the state had not scheduled the inspection yet.  It was not that our company had not requested the inspection.  The inspection passed and the ********’s were cleared for occupancy on December 18th, 2024.  The inspection was completed within the 10-business day standard time frame for the inspection process with the State of NM Manufactured Housing Division.  I have attached copies of the email confirmations where we completed the inspection request and date of completion of inspection. The customer can contact the NM Regulation and Licensing Division at ************, if they have further concerns or issues.

    Kind Regards,
