    I rented a unit jan 2024 to assist an awuaintance. In late may i contacted the facility to advise I needed the unit vacated as the person had abandoned it and I live out of state. Thesy removed the lock and sent me pictures of 4 storage totes and a walker. I asked if i could pay a fee and get it closed out. I was told ues. I paid the fee. In june july i continued recieving charges despite multiple calls. We again agreed i would pay june july and august and unit would be closed out. I paid and continue to recieve bills and they will not communicate in writing/email. Only these berbal assirances and telephone payment transactions. I am out of state and unable to go to property.

    Good afternoon, 

    I received this complaint and wanted to respond to this issue. We had a customer who rented a unit and allowed someone else to put belongings in the unit. When the customer let us know he was finished with the unit and wanted his lease closed we informed him that there was still locks on the door and that per his signed lease agreement the unit needed to be left vacant to close his lease. He expressed to us that he was no longer in town and would not be able to come remove the locks from the unit. We cut the locks off for him to see if his associate had emptied the unit. Upon opening the unit it was not empty and there was still items in it. We explained to the customer that unless the unit is emptied and returned to us vacant and broom swept, again per his signed lease agreement, we could not close the lease and he would need to get the unit emptied. He was upset and wanted us to clean the unit out, we do not do that it is the customer's responsibility to empty the unit to have the lease closed. He paid his past due balance and a NSF fee because he had a previous payment charged back- we did not charge a cleaning fee. He then had someone come empty the unit and on August 27th 2024, sent photos of the cleaned out unit to our [email protected] email which is our move out procedure. His lease was closed on August 27th and he is no longer a customer.
