    On September 9th 2022 I received a proposal from Dominguez Carpet One to install some flooring in my house. The work was performed between October and November of that year. Almost a year later the floors started to peel and coming off. I contacted the manufacturer and the installer. We found out that the floors had not been installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. Right after we found that out, Carpet One said they were going to take care of the replacement of the floors but recently they refused to take care of the cost of the materials and labor to replace the floors. The amount of this complaint includes labor and materials paid.

    Hi,

    The installer installed the material supplied by this customer.

    If the customer had supplied a vapor barrier along with material the installer would have installed it.

    We had nothing to do with the purchase of the product.

    We do not warranty products that were not purchased from us.

    We've explained to the customer since, that if he supplies the vapor barrier and material we will install it at no cost.

    The customer has a moisture problem that we do not believe the vapor barrier will help.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    The installer holds a license to install flooring, he should have followed the manufacturer's installation directions. He ignored that this type of flooring requires a moisture barrier as a standard requirement for installation.

    He leveled the floors and he installed a base board, he took care of this materials, of course I paid for them but he never mentioned the moisture barrier that the flooring manufacturer requires for the installation.
