    For months I've tried to get anyone in the utilities dept. to give me a correct balance left on an overdue bill for charges I wasn't even aware existed. The account is (#*******) of which I made an agreement to make monthly installments for one year back in January 2022. A lien was placed on the property to be cleared once the balance was paid off. I've spoken to Supervisor **** *********** **** ***** and a lady named ******. NO ONE returns calls nor provides service of any kind, but this department has no issues when it comes time to collect money. Their reason for such poor service? They're short staffed because of Covid. The same reason most businesses use now to qualify poor to non-existent service. This department mails out their monthly statements' way after the due date and does not provide a monthly balance on any overdue charges. When I've called to receive balances, I'm informed my account needs to be researched and someone will call back. I've taken to paying this bill way in advance of receiving their statements. Their statements are not current to the payments made and I've the bank statements to prove so.

    I am writing in response to the complaint that the Better Business Bureau received from Mr. ****** ****** of La Union, New Mexico.

     

    Doña Ana County’s Utilities staff has been in communication with Mr. ****** regarding his account and this matter is now resolved as of February 2023.
