In July 2024 we contracted for a porch patio enclosure on our home ***** ***** **** *** ***) from Patio Cover Designs by S LLC **************. We had met the owners ***** *** ******* ***** in May 2024 when they had come to our home to measure and estimate the project. We negotiated the cost over the next month. In July 2024 we completed the negotiation and mailed a check to Jason Skiba in the amount of $12,500 (50% of the total cost). The check was sent to Patio Cover Designs by S, **** *** ****** ***** ****** *** ******* ** ****** The check was endorsed by ***** ***** and cashed on July 11. ***** agreed to purchase the materials with the down payment and install the enclosure in October.

Over the course of the next five months we attempted to get status updates numerous times and left voice mail messages, texts and emails. ***** responded to the first few texts, that he had received the check, would order the materials and that the status was "so far so good" for installation in October. On Aug 29 ***** texted that they were out of town but that he would mail us color samples that our HOA had requested. The postmark on the letter indicated they were sent from ********** ***
On October 22 I requested refund of our down payment if they were unable to fulfill the project. After several more texts from me requesting a schedule update, ***** texted twice that their supplier ******** ******** was still processing and/or back ordered. On Nov 26 ***** texted that the supplier probably would ship materials the next week. No materials and no communication since then.

I did a ******** ****** property search on the ***** home ***** ******** *** ******* titled to ******* ****** and it found had been sold in August 2024. I believe that ******* have returned to ********* where they are originally from and that we are being scammed. Their web site indicates that they also operate in ********* ** under the same company name,

** * ***** are wonderful people who reached out to Patio Cover Designs by S to enclose their existing porch. We had several meetings with them in person and via phone calls. There were a few design and color changes along the way but we were able to accommodate them. Since their enclosure is custom made to order it takes twice as long for our supplier to make. It comes from ********** and is sent to their location in ******* and then it is shipped to *** ******. We informed this customer in November that their materials were taking longer than expected to produce and they were still waiting for some of their parts before they could ship it out. This customer then called our supplier to verify that what we told them was true (which the supplier verified). We also informed them that it could be December before we received their materials but that we were 100% committed to completing their project. Their materials have since arrived and we do have an installation date scheduled, we are just waiting to hear back from the customer on how they'd like to proceed.

Concerning their claim that we have skipped town and scammed them out of their deposit, nothing could be farther from the truth. On our website we detail our story and that we currently have 2 locations (* ** ** *** * ** ***. We have a current contractors license in ** and we are committed to serving our clients in *** ******* We made the difficult decision to split our time between the 2 locations in order to care for ********* mother who has a very rare type of cancer and the only specialist is located in *I. We truly apologize for the confusion and the fright this caused our customer. We wish they would have communicated this particular concern to us so we could explain (or point them to our website).
