I hired Tint Spa to do residential tint for my home windows. We agreed to do 9 total windows in my house for a total of $1,750 for the entire job. We agreed on using 15% tint but the day the owner came to complete the job, I expressed that I felt the 15% was a bit dark and he had completed 2/3 (6 windows) of the work using the 15%. I paid the full $1,750 balance for the full job after he said he would come back to finish the work. I asked if we could use a lighter tint to finish the remaining 3 windows and he said yes but that he would come back a different day. I expressed a few days later that I would like to finish the remainder windows with lighter tint and he said he would have to charge me $150+ more to finish the work. He explained that he has to order a full roll of lighter tint to finish the job and charge me for the product. I explained that I already paid for the full job and he said he didn’t have lighter tint in stock so he would have to order it at my expense. I asked if he needed the whole ordered roll of tint to finish the 3 windows and he said “absolutely not” that it wouldn’t take that much product. So I asked why is he charging me all that product to finish a job I already paid for. He said he has to order it at my expense even though he’ll keep the extra product. I expressed my frustration at this point and then he told me he refuses to finish the job and didn’t refund me for the full amount of the incomplete work. He has since dismissed my attempts at collecting the refund for the money I spent for the incomplete work.

******** home windows had a total of 114 square feet to tint. She was quoted $12 per square foot, for a total of $1,368.00, per the proposal that she signed. We completed most of the job but had to stop because she requested a different shade of film which wasn't a part of the agreement. I said ok. Things happen. It's business. She then paid in full because I was going to go back and finish. A few days later, I told her I need more funds to order the other roll she wanted (We have to order a new roll of tint because I order the film as needed per project.) Anyhow, she didn't understand that aspect and got upset which is why I decided to not do business with her again. She was refunded $150 (screenshot attached) for the windows that we didn't finish. Now that we're not tinting the master bedroom and bathroom, she now has a total of 74.46 square feet, not the initial 114 quoted. This now raises the price per square foot fee as well. Instead of $12 per square foot, the job's now being docked at a higher rate of $18 per square foot. Similarly, when you go to the store, you typically pay less when you buy more quantity. Same here. Less square feet raises the price per square foot fee. After her $150.00 refund , she paid a total of $1,469.75. At her new square footage fee of $18 per square foot and 74.46 sq/ft in total, that equals to $1,340.28. To reiterate, she already paid 1,469.75 minus her new amount of 1,340.28, gives her a refund of $129.47. So in all actuality, we refunded her more than the amount that she was entitled to.
