Gorman Electric was a subcontractor hired by ****** ************ for some work that took place at my home. While Gorman was contracted directly with ****** and not me, I authorized Gorman to install electric to the radon fan on the roof and directly bill it to me. On that invoice, Gorman billed for other scope and services that were related and part of the ****** contract. This additional billing included time spent to correct work with the recessed light fixtures that had installed just days before (and part of ******** contract), as well as additional dimmers for a track light which they claim were used. I was on-site throughout the time Gorman was on-site and this is not correct. Not only was this work included in ******** scope and amounts already paid through ******, it included time for correcting work they had done days prior. The only work authorized by me and directly contracted was related to the radon fan on 5/23 for $330.

Additionally, Gorman over-billed for labor hours on July 8, which I've called to their attention and have not received a response.

In sum, I was charged for materials that were not used, I was overcharged for labor hours and I was charged to correct work that should have been covered under warranty. The business has refused to answer any questions related to the invoice or warranty coverage, and instead threatened lien if not paid. I would like an explanation and proof of their assertions and work.

*** **** was originally sent his invoice 31 Aug 2022 and is due upon receipt, after nearly 60 days with no payment or communication we called and left him a message and sent him another email and copy of his invoice.  I explained in the email that I would waive the late fees and interest if he paid within 5 days.  He then called and complained about his invoice stated that the only work he was responsible for was the work to install a radon exhaust fan and not the dimmer work.  *** **** had purchased all of his light fixtures online.  we did explain at the time we did not warranty any fixtures that we did not provide.  We at the time did not have any tech data on the devices he purchased.  In our original quote to the General Contractor, we supplied general dimming devices for standard light fixtures.  He also purchased Non dimmable lamps that did not work with the dimmers we provided.  He also had a track fixture in his kitchen that would flicker when dimmed the dimmer has 2 settings for different types of LED drivers. both setting we tried and neither worked.  The light fixture and dimmer were not compatible.  A meeting with the General Contractor's representative, our company and *** **** took place, and it was agreed that we would try another dimmer but that because we did not provide the fixtures, we could not warranty the work and he was told he would be responsible for the charges.  He wanted the light to dim and so we replaced the dimmer with another unit.  the second unit also did not work, and he noticed the same problem in other fixtures he had provided.  He was told that we would have to try different dimmers until we could find the ones worked and that he would be responsible for the time and materials to find a dimmer that would work on the nonstandard fixtures he had provided.  He at that time declined further work.  His additional claim that he had paid the General Contractor and Gorman for the same work is false. I contacted the General Contractor and we compared and verified that he was not double charged for any time or materials.  The General Contractor's representative sent an email which I copied him on attesting to the fact that he did not get overcharged and that there was no overbilling for time or materials.  We can provide copied of invoices and the note from the General Contractor's representative.  the General Contractor's representative also stated that she was present when the conversation about the dimmer was had.  *** **** has been a very demanding and difficult customer who has made baseless and false claims.  A warranty letter was provided to the General Contractor with closeout documents.
