I have been to this hospital twice. Once when I found out I was pregnant and again while I was pregnant and had to go to the emergency room. Both times I went I gave them my insurance card and I have medicaid too so all of that should have been covered by my medicaid. They never charged my medicaid they only directly charged me and never billed my insurance. This is not right. Now they sent my bill to a collections department with a huge bill. please help me.
    thank you.

Thank you for choosing Guadalupe County Hospital for your medical services. Our records indicate at the time services were rendered, there was no Medicaid information provided. We did however, have your primary insurance, **** on file and they were billed. They processed your claims for both dates of service. The statements that you received, were for coinsurance/deductible amounts that your insurance applied towards your share.
Our office contacted you on 08/17/2022. You spoke with ******, and she verified your balance and demographics, At this time, there was also no Medicaid information provided on this date. She informed you of our discount program, and mailed an application to help with the amount your insurance had assessed towards your share. Unfortunately, we did not receive the completed application back and could not offer any discounts on the balance due.
I have contacted Medicaid, and was advised that you were eligible at the time of service. I have cancelled your accounts with the collection agency and they will be removed from your credit history, Also, we have adjusted them in our system to reflect the adjustment. In the future, please provide copies of all insurance information at the time services are rendered.
We welcome any feedback on how we can make your experience better, if you have further questions or concerns, you can contact me at ************* **** ****
