I would like you to be aware that Summit Plumbing may have been persuaded, duped, or acted deceptively in their communication with our homeowners insurance claims adjuster. They prepared two identical invoices - one in November 2023 when we used their services, and revised it as a record for our claims adjuster in or around April 2024 after speaking with the adjuster. Here is the wording on the original invoice: "Replaced compression angle stop under sink in kitchen to fridge that was leaking and damaging floor"Here's the wording they put on the revised invoice they gave to our claims adjuster (after talking with him): "Replaced compression angle stop under sink in kitchen to fridge that was leaking and damaging floors. Homeowner wanted fridge line disconnected because they were going to replace the fridge and the flooring underneath".Note - it is the same PO, Invoice number, date etc, as the original. They admitted they changed it. The words they put on it were damaging to us, completely misleading and incorrect and don't even coincide with the words they used when I asked them about it in an email. Their response to my email was: "...Our tech identified the leak as an angle stop. After he had replaced the angle stop that was leaking, the man that was at the property at the time of service, had said not to reconnect the fridge line to the angle stop because it was going to be replaced...."Not to reconnect the fridge line to the the angle stop - that is correct. We were not replacing the fridge or the flooring - only the fridge plumbing line itself because it had burst when the angle stop broke. The new wording made it appear that there was prior damage and a poorly functioning refrigerator, both of which are untrue. I don't know if this is illegal, but it's certainly a deceptive practice that has harmed us to the tune of many thousands of dollars in potential claims payout.
