1 starDon't. Just don't.
I went with Royal Moving out of Nevada after looking for a long distance mover and them telling me OTHER movers were a scam. They are the scam. From my original location, the moving supervisor showed up hours late with the truck and that was after some local guys showed up from a ********** ad Royal Moving had put out to get movers to show up to my house. This was also after Royal Moving told me they thoroughly train their moving staff. How can they train their moving staff if they don't hire anyone until the day of the move?
Some of the movers loaded and delivered boxes upside down even though they only had to read the writing on the boxes to determine which side was the top of the box. But they're "thoroughly trained"? One mover was a kid that packed a box full of my dishes only to have it open when he moved it into the truck and dishes fell out and broke! The moving supervisor told him to leave.
After several hours of packing that went into the night (remember the truck was late to my house to begin with) the supervisor suddenly told me that my stuff was taking up a lot of room on the 18 wheeler moving truck. I told him I paid for a full truck and he told me that he was going to have to call it in and they were going to charge me a lot more because I had only "paid for so many squares on the truck". He told me that if I gave him some cash he wouldn't call it in to his company and then they wouldn't charge me more so I had to pay him $500 extra just so he could finish loading the truck I paid for already! Even when he finished loading the truck it wasn't completely full!
Not all of the breakables were wrapped so some ended up being delivered to my new house broken in pieces! They wrapped some plastic items but didn't wrap some glass items! "Thoroughly trained"?
Don't go with Royal Moving and Storage. You'll regret it.Review fromDebra C

1 starDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR ITEMS, MENTAL HEALTH AND MONEY!!!!!!!
For me it started with Desiree reassuring me that they were a 5 star company that used their own trucks and drivers and that they were not a broker. That turned out to not be true!
They showed up a day earlier then what I was told and when they called and said they would be at my home in approximately 3 hours, I was livid!!!! They asked me if I wanted to cancel, WHAT? I can't cancel, I've given you a 975.00 non-refundable deposit and I'm closing on my house in 2 days!
Then my items show up damaged, the whole bottom of my light beige couch was wet and discolored, busted up furniture, busted up printer, one of my sleeping bags that was in an enclosed heavy plastic bag ended up being soaking wet!
One of the movers scratched the pristine wood floors at the house I rented when they brought in one of my dressers that had a busted off wheel, that happened on their watch.
My tool bag and tools were missing, as well as a tub of very sentimental Christmas decorations, which in my settlement I received nothing for either of them. Also, even though I was told to get 3 estimates for the scratches on the floor, I received nothing for those damages.
Unbelievable that this company is still able to rip people off and have no accountability or responsibility for their horrible service and untruths.Review fromJamie G

1 starDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I called, got a great quote for my move from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City. I explained that I was moving into my apartment in OKC on April 1st & Allen, the Rep I dealt with explained to me that in order for them to deliver my things then, they would have to pick my things up no later then March 27th. Ok, so I paid the deposit. On 3/27 my things were picked up. Only after I would lose the deposit, did he tell me that they would try to get my things to me as close to the 1st of April as possible. TODAY IS APRIL 11TH & I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY THINGS!!! They were supposed to be here between 8am-10am today. I called my new boss yesterday after Nikki, with Royal Moving called & told me they would be here today. I asked my manager if I could come in after the delivery. She was gracious to allow that, even though I just started this job on Monday April 8th. She was not happy that I had to call her back today to tell her that they still hadn't come yet & wouldn't be here till 1pm! I talked to Lauren last week & she relayed to me that they had up to 30 days to deliver per the contract I signed when they picked up my stuff. I explained to her that they need to make people aware of ALL that before a deposit is put down & could lose the deposit if we cancel!! If I had known that, I would have NEVER BOOKED WITH THIS COMPANY!!! The amount of stress that this has caused is tremendous. To be without my personal belongings, having to go buy business casual clothes for work & now having to miss work today after just starting this job on Monday!! They are messing with my lively hood & causing me to spend money that I had not planned on spending. There has been no talk of discounting my fees or anything. The way they do "business" is completely UNACCEPTABLE. I am praying that all my things are delivered safely and exactly how they picked them up. If you value your time, money & mental health, DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. This business is horrible.Review fromDEA B

1 starWorst move ever and I have moved a lot!!! Broken furniture, rub marks and bare spots on furniture - broken furniture, stolen/lost items that were expensive. Furniture wasn't covered as promised. plastic wrap not used as promised. Not sent to final destination as promised to be stored while we got an address. Came back and charged more at day of move. Crickets when calling to get location of items and updates, yelled at by staff in office over phone, no contact unless someone randomly answered the phone which was twice in number of times called. One person tried to help but I think they must have gotten in trouble because second call was like everyone else spoken with in office. No real insurance. DONT DO IT!!!!!
WOULD GIVE ZERO IF IT WAS AVAILABLE!Review fromDAN H

1 starWe got two estimates for the volume of our move, one for 1,000 ft^3 and the other for 1,100 ft^3. Royal gave a great price for our inventory and guaranteed a 2-day pickup window with 24 hours notice for which day it'd be, with 2 hours on day of.
On the day before our 2-day window began, we stopped packing since we hadn't gotten a call. The following morning at 8:30 AM, I received a call from a driver saying he'd be there in an hour. I told him stuff wasn't anywhere near ready, and he gave me until 3:00 PM to be ready.
When he arrived, he assessed our stuff and told me it might be 1,400 ft^3. After he called it into the office, it became 1,700 ft^3. A nice 60 percent upcharge on moving day that made the price the same as the more reputable companies that visited.
Furniture was broken, table tops had been scraped off, boxes were smashed, and we're still assessing the damage. Nothing was placed like we'd organized it so that we'd be able to access the stuff we needed. Don't send bicycles with these folks - they took them apart without any idea what they were doing and now our bicycles will need full rebuilds...kind of tough to claim that through insurance.
Upon their estimate, I rented 1,500 ft^3 of storage. It was 3 500 ft^3 units - we filled two of them and barely needed the third. When I called to get a refund on their bad overestimate, I was told that included the empty space above our stuff in the truck. While there was empty space in the truck, there was none in the storage unit. Stuff was loaded in tight. Apparently I should have been in the truck instructing.
Nothing about this firm felt good after the initial booking. Every communication with the office was polite and positive, and every aspect of the actual service provided stunk. We're still having our attorney determine what our recourse is here, and it's sad that we have had to go down that route, but it's clear that they don't care and this is our path to something fair.Review fromMichael A

1 starWorst experience I have ever had. I moved from California to Vegas October 2022. The movers canceled on me the day of and was unable to reschedule for 2 days, last day I had at my current apartment. The movers arrived at my place in CA over 5 hours late, not to mention at 10pm!! The guys were great but took their time with it being so late. The move into the Vegas apartment seemed to be going smoother - they actually showed up on time and on the correct date. Fast forward to moving things into my place...we had one guy slipping boxes up my stairs one by one instead of carrying them. They ripped my custom couch, several glassware was shattered along with a designer mirror. It has now been a year and they will not assist with the claim I submitted re damages. Received a notification back in FEBRUARY that my claim has been approved and that ***** Moving will now be responsible for issuing me a check. No one will assist, the manager Megan is no help "Please send an email to our claims department" and each time you receive a generic email back right away. It is now 1 yr later, I am now moving out of the complex I moved into and I have still yet received any help re damages, any updates on check and no one will return my calls/emails. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT book your moving with this company, you will thank yourself later! Such a nightmare!!!Review fromRichard T

1 starReview
I’m giving this 1-star review for a couple of reasons, outlined below.
Initial communication with Royal (Desiree) was very good. She was congenial and thorough, and we got what we thought to be a good estimate for the move, compared to a couple of other estimates. Our first estimate was on May 10th, 2023 for $4893.79 (797 cubic feet (cf)). On June 7, 2023, we called to add more boxes which understandably raised our estimate to $6526.83 (911 cf). . We did have a few small, odd things (ironing board, plant stand, etc.) that we offered to send a picture for them to add to the estimate. They didn’t want the picture. Our new estimate came to $7896.83 (1120 cf). . On July 10, 2023, the truck arrived. Brandon (he gets a 5 star) went through our house. As some of the boxes were being loaded, he told us that the move was going to be around 2000 cf. Minutes later we needed to sign another estimate for $14, 010.92 (2,000 cf). We expressed our amazement at this, and on one phone call the lady asked if there was anything we could leave behind to reduce the cost. This seemed like a classic case of "BAIT AND SWITCH." Our house was sold, everything staged to move, and the cost almost doubled!
Brandon started loading the truck, and somewhere around noon, a couple of other guys showed up to help with the loading. We didn’t check the inventory as they went along, as we tried to stay out of their way. . A completed inventory was not offered, and frankly, we did not think to get one. . A week later we started calling to get a copy of the inventory. After several calls we received two pages. For having a 2000 cf cost the inventory shows about half!!! We have put in a claim for damaged and missing items.
I don’t recommend Royal Moving and Storage for an interstate move unless there is some arrangement for someone to physically look at what is being shipped before a final price is settled on.Review fromAnthony G

I have had a horrible experience with this company. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
First, the company stated my move would be about 400-450 cubic feet and gave me an estimated price. When they arrived, they stated my move would be over 630 cubic feet and more than doubled the estimate. They also charged me for many hidden fees that were never spoken of. The price went from about $3600 to about $7600 with the added fees.
When they called me to deliver, they only delivered half of my belongings because, "The warehouse workers couldn't fit everything on the truck with the other people's belongings". They also tried to give me items that were not mine and were perplexed when I stated they were not mine. My tall mirror came shattered and my coffee table came broken and bent out of shape.
The experienced turned into me calling the company nearly every day and them making empty promises of when my next shipment would be delivered. During all of this, I spoke with Lyiah and Lauren, who were very kind individuals. They did everything well and they deserve the one star I am giving to this company.
It is now a week over the delivery date. When I spoke with another crew member named Chase, he promised me a delivery today (8/7/23) that would most likely be delivered personally by him since there were so many "scheduling issues." He even told me they spent a large portion of their meeting time on 8/1/23 talking about scheduling and trying to get my belongings to me. Chase blamed it on, "Nobody is moving out to where you are, even though we get people moving there all the time."
I am still waiting on a call from the driver to give me an exact date and time for the second delivery, which should have been delivered on the date of the first delivery. I am worried about any damage that might come with my belongings as well, since now I have to spend another large portion of money buying replacement furniture after spending $7600 to this company.Royal Moving and Storage, LLC

We apologize that you feel that the services that were provided to you did not meet your expectations. Our booking agent provides a quote with the information that is provided to them at that time. With the items that were provided, 19 items, 38 pieces, the estimated space on the truck was 300cf. Our quality assurance manager called the customer a few days before the pickup window to go over the inventory a final time to make sure that we arrive with the appropriate amount of space at the time of pickup, the customer added additional items, which totaled 23 items, 50 pieces which increased the amount of space the customer needed from 300cf to 450cf. At pickup the customer had even more items, totaling 33 items, 63 pieces, and they also had multiple items that were bigger than expected. This also caused an increase from the previously reserved 450cf to the final amount of 634cf. of space on the truck. The customer was informed from the very beginning that they would be charged for the amount of space that their items take up on the truck and the customer also signed all contracts with the cubic footage and related pricing. We had given the customer the option at the time of pickup to take specific items that would fit into the reserved 450cf, however the customer wanted to take all of their items which as a result increased their final price. Also, there were no "hidden fees" at any time during the move. All fees are listed on the estimates that were signed by the customer and on their Bill of Lading that the customer signed at pickup and delivery. At pickup all services and related fees were discussed by the foreman on site and with the dispatch manager over the phone. The customer agreed to all services and related pricing. In regard to the delivery, we had available space on a truck going to ID, so instead of delaying and waiting for a truck with all of the space required for all of the items, we delivered 2/3 of the customer's items on 7/27/2023 with the reaming items delivered today, 08/09/2023. Regarding the damaged items, the customer has yet to reach out to us regarding any damaged items. The customer can give our office a call and Lauren or Lyiah would be happy to assist them with that info. They can also send an email to [email protected] for assistance.Review fromKelly S

1 starWARNING! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ITS A SCAM!!
Desiree Quoted $2592.84 and PROMISED they would not sell my job to another company, they have great loyal customers and reviews etc etc. DO NOT trust her! The reviews on the website are fake!
The day of the move the "truck broke down" and they said were sending someone else.
Told I owed $7886.48 AFTER truck was loaded with all our items at 11:30PM at night in a rental truck (not a company truck).
Missing over $10,000 worth of furniture and several broken/damaged items.
Read my review for Familiar Movers the company they sold our job to. HORRIBLE experience!!
