I paid $449.99 for computer services in 3-15-2024 I tried several phone numbers for them and getting no response back from them. Please advise I dont think at this point Ill get my money back.Initial Complaint

There was a total of 3 transactions equaling $799. The first 2 transactions took place on March 6th. 2 different cards were used. One was charged $200 and the other was $300. Then on March 18th another payment of $299 was made. I originally had a problem with my HP printer so I called the support number on the printer. I then was transfered to Cares Pro from that point and they made it look like my computer was hacked and talked me into purchasing their product to help prevent it from being hacked again. A month later, they called and said someone was trying to hack my computer again and that I would need to spend another $1000 to protect it. I told him I could not afford it and he kept trying to pressure me. I then had my IT friend help me and he said my computer was never hacked. I called Cares Pro and called them out on this lie and they agreed to refund my money but it would take 30 days. I waited for the 30 days with no refund so I called again. They then said it would take another 30 days and I said no that is not ok so he then said ok 3 days. 3 days later there was still no refund. So I called again, they then said 7 days. No refund at 7 days so I called again and they said another 7 days, this continued until today, and still no refund. I have spoken to managers and just about everyone in the company for the last 3.5 months and just keep getting the run around and no refund.Business Response

I called their number which was listed as a "Hotwire" cable information number. I wanted to add two tv stations to my moms cable package that was provided by her HOA. They seemed professional and told me they can do that but there is a one time charge of $349. Stupidly I agreed to it and provided my credit card number.. In the interim I called the real "Hotwire" that told me they received no such payment and those 2 stations were included in my Moms HOA package. So I immediately got in touch with my credit card company. Seems they did an investigation and this scam company gave them some form of documents saying they provided me with web pages... I don't even know what they are talking about. I am very upset that my credit card company said there is no further action they can take. I had that credit card for years without a problem and a big credit line. I am going to cancel it. On Nov. 10, 2022, I entered into a service agreement with Cares Pro LLC for technical support on my laptop computer and my wife's ipad in the amount of $849. I was told this amount provided 24/7 technical support on these devices for my lifetime. I used their service three times and each time I was given a sales pitch that my computer was at risk for *************** and attempts to hack into my email and that I needed to upgrade their service by $2000 to protect my computer. I then realized that rather than a technical support company, it was merely a scam attempt to take more money from me. On May 23, 2023, I sent Cares Pro LLC an email requesting that my service agreement be cancelled and a prorated refund of my $849 be returned to me. No response. I then called their telephone number on May 30 and left a message requesting a refund. No response. On June 1, 2023 I talked to their billing department. At first I was told no refunds. I continued to talk to the manager and he eventually told me a refund takes 180 days to prcess. I told him to get started on the process.
