I paid the $1 fee to access a document I needed. They unknowingly signed me up for a subscription and then charged me without my permission. To rectify this they gave me two years free for a service I will never use again. They are clearly used to this complaint based on the email response. I reached out to the company regarding a charge of $39.95 to my account on April 3rd. I had initially made a payment of $0.95 for a weeks access to the service, with the intention of using it just for that day only. Unfortunately, I forgot to cancel the subscription after that initial trial, and as a result, my account was automatically charged for a full *************** soon as I noticed the chargeon the very same dayI took immediate action to cancel the subscription and contacted customer care regarding a refund. I havent used the service beyond the first day of the trial period, and I have no intention of continuing to use it. Their website also states to contact them within 30 days of the initial purchase and before the end of your subscription period.While I fully understand that its my responsibility to manage subscriptions, I kindly ask for your understanding in this case. The charge was clearly unintentional, and given that the service wasnt used at all after the trial, I hope a refund could be considered as a gesture of goodwill.Ive reached out to their team three times already and have not received any response on my third email, this is understandably frustratingespecially in the current economic climate, where every dollar counts. I used this service paying a one time separate fee for it, knowing that I wasnt signing up for a membership. Did NOT even click a single thing about memberships and was charged by them a week later 40x the amount I had already paid up front. I did not sign up for a trial, it wasnt even remotely in my interest. They have had nothing but AI respond to me and did nothing but try to upsell me after the fact. This is a clear indication of human rights violations for corporate conduct. I am not a large scale business and am struggling to eat. My bank account was overdrawn causing me even more mental health issues than I already have. I cannot afford psychological therapy and have been struggling so bad just to see a therapist over my work life since Covid. I know this seems small, but for some people things like this are enough to cause serious damage. On March 5, 2025. I needed a PDF reader to unzip PDF files to download. I searched the net and decided on ********** because they said the service was free. However it was not free they asked for a small fee for 7 days of use and it was described as type of donation for the business. I did not see it as a free trial, I didn't see anything about a free trial. It was only for a few days of use for $1.95. I didn't know it was part of a free try, it's not free trial of I paid for use, and I was charged $39.95. I contacted the business and offered two years of service and my bank account was emptied. I need this money back I on a fixed **********, if had known it was a free trial I would have cancelled of course. This company offers a package for $.95 that last for seven days of their service. However, after making this purchase seven days later, you are then charged an additional cost of $39.95. Its very unexpected! When I went back to communicate with the company and look into the situation, they are immediate response was to cancel my service and not charge me further, which was good, but they arent acknowledging that they shouldnt have charged the $39.95. Instead what I discovered is that after you buy the seven day package, they put a tag line in at the very bottom of your order confirmation stating that you have somehow signed up for a subscription and you will be charged again. At no point did I actually get asked if I wanted to pay for a subscription Nor did I authorize a subscription. When I got the order confirmation as many of us do, I ignored it because I thought my business was resolved. Apparently, I shouldve scrolled all the way to the bottom to find this hidden statement. When I suggested to the company that this was poor business practice to sneak it in on their customers, they stopped responding to me at all. Now Im stuck with a $40 charge that feels borderline fraudulent. After the incident, I went online to find reviews for this company and discovered that many people have encountered the same situation. I am certainly not alone.
