Horrible, they don't deserve a rating. They destroyed my yard. Claimed to be A+ with the BBB and partners with SDPadres. Look at their 1-star ratings on Yelp. We all have similar complaints. My issues occurred within weeks after installation in April 2023. They never came back for the completion walk-through. I opened a ticket for repairs within weeks of installation and they delayed responding saying it was because of "Covid" in 2023. It took 6 months to get someone out to my house who destroyed it. They refused to honor the warranty. I have a huge ditch along the side of my house. Trash left behind including a pick. They left unfinished pavers and rusted nails all over my yard and in my neighbors' yards who have small kids. I have water damage to my house due to missing drains, putting drains under the turf, and slope issues. They tried to cover up their mistakes with PVC glue with duct tape. They do not know how to install irrigation. I reported this company to the State Contracting Licensing Board. They should not be in business. My yard needs a full makeover. They talk the talk but don't honor their warranty or workmanship. They get the money and run.Tough Turtle Turf

Angela, as we've stated multiple times, we are more than happy to honor the warranty. We confirmed with the Contractor Board that there was never any leak, as we previously told you. We also expressed to the Contractor Board we are happy to repair any outstanding items you are unhappy with, and re-lay the turf, and you expressed you would not allow this, so we have stated, and will continue to state, that we are happy to repair your yard.Review fromEllen L

Be Extremely careful about working with this company. I signed a contract with them for a landscaping project. We signed a contract, two weeks later, after I call them to schedule the install, some Director of Sales Adam calls me yelling that the job cannot be completed unless we pay more due to a mistake they made. So basically, unless we pay more, they can cancel the contract. Kept yelling that I was expecting free work when I had already signed a contract and paid a deposit! I reluctantly agreed because didn't want to lose anymore time after all the visits and back and forth communications. Even if you sign a contract with them, they can change the price on you and give the ultimatum to take it or leave it. Would not do any business with them again. They are definitely not professional nor honor the contracts a customer signs with them.Tough Turtle Turf

Ellen, we've already spoken personally, and I know you have spoken with our ownership team as well. I'm replying here just to convey our apology again, and re-state that we are here to help you with any concerns you may have at any point.Review fromkenneth m.

1 starAs a potential customer, Tough Turtle Turf in good faith came out to provide a FREE Estimate. Due to TTT lack of accountability, refuse to be liable for any damage that may have been caused by their workers. The salesman was aware that to get to my backyard the workers would have to come thru my home with their equipment and supplies. The salesman stated they would put tarp down for the protection of my floors. Moving forward someone called to schedule for the work to be done and said they would not be liable for any damages that might occur. I cancel the work to be done before the construction ever begun. Now TTT has forward the cancel contract to Greensky Finance in the amount of $265.28. This charge should have never been processed until the work was completed. Once the contract was cancelled, these charges should have been cancelled and the account closedReview fromBelinda H

1 starThe worse company ever. Grass that was in my yard has grown through the turf. Nobody from the company would even come out to look. Just know that if u currently have grass they will call it weed. They should be arrested. They have tried to cover everything that can go wrong in the contract. Pls read it very carefully. That’s how they get your money & won’t budge. So much for us one’s trying to save the Las Vegas water. I have filed with the contractor board & if they don’t provide a positive result, I’m going to small claims court for sure! If grass is weed then weed must be grass…just saying it makes no sense how they cover their botched work by hiding behind a contract that covers unprofessional work. Buyer beware…DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!Review fromRobert S

1 starTurf was installed on 7-26-22. Soon after the front was settling. One of my dogs was also pulling up the turf in a corner in the. TTT calls to collect the final $. When I tell the lady about the issues, she asks if I would like to wait until it is fixed. I agreed, she makes notes in the account and tells me a production manager (PM) will be in contact with me shortly. Weeks later, we get a letter saying that TTT are starting a lien for the unpaid $. After telling them when the lady told us, TTT stopped the lien.
10-4-22. During my own dog repair work, I notice that the nails used to install were framing nails. Not artificial turf nails. I finally get a call from PM and I tell him what happened.
10-6, I get a text from PM say it will get fixed on 10-7. No one came
11-4, I texted PM telling him that no one came. He says he's on vacation and that he'll give me a call on Monday. No call, no texts
12-13, I call the PM, and no answer. No one showed up yet, damage is increasing
12-29, the PM came out and did inspection. He confirmed TTT used the wrong nails scheduled a crew come out and get it all fixed
1-6-23, crew came and fixed the problems. After, I went out and inspected. I saw one of the two edges has visible fraying occurring, and the other edge has a large gap going from over an inch wide to slowly tapering to normal over the distance of almost 15'. I texted PM and he came to inspect. He took pictures and video, and put them into his repair report
A couple weeks later, I get a call from TTT accounting department looking for $. I tell them the issues, TTT looked up the notes from the January 6th repair job, and confirmed that there are still issues. Said someone will reach out for repair
3-8, not repaired yet. TTT called looking to collect $. Said that TTT will give me a discount due to the issues. The turf install is over $8k. TTT offered roughly $250 off for the inconvenience. Absolutely insulting. TTT also did not schedule someone to come out and fix itReview fromRussell C

2 starsAfter checking reviews & several estimates we went with this company for artificial turf. They weren’t the cheapest and they even increased the price between the initial estimate and the final contract because of “increased costs”. Then they tricked us. The written contract said that they would install a weed barrier as we requested. However they added in the contract that if we agreed to using pet deodorizer they wouldn’t do the barrier. On the rough design page they wrote LV PET - which we thought referred to the barrier as PET is short for a common variety of plastic. Wrong! They said that we had agreed to the cheaper deodorizer. We hadn’t. In our view this is a bait and switch. So even having a written contract provides little protection. After multiple calls, they still refuse to talk to us to settle this. Bottom line - we hired them for one-half of our property. We’ll go elsewhere for the other half. By the way they sub-contract the actual work. The subcontractor was fine but the company we paid is expensive, slippery with contract terminology and threatened to walk away from the installation half-way through unless we gave them more money. As seniors, we find their behavior outrageous.Review fromNorman L

1 starTough Turtle is a very unprofessional company. There was a long delay in completing my project. I then filed a warranty complaint because the turf that they installed is not draining the water properly. I waited months to get a response for my complaint, but never heard back from them. So disappointing!!!!!!! Now, i have to get this re-done and obviously have to spend more money.Review fromJerry r

1 starI signed my contract on 8/6 and all I ask for is the bare minimum which is communication. I have called so many times that I could probably name every employee who all say the same thing "we will email the manager and they should be in contact" and nobody reaches out. *Update: ****** finally reached out today in an email saying she has no information at this time of what occured because she has been out of the office since my first email (9/28) and she will discuss it with her team to make sure this doesn't happen again and will get me an update tomorrow (similar tune as the agents)* All I want is for someone to read the notes of each call and email I have left and tell me that I still should pay full price for the service given. Rescheduled 2 times and both times were because of Tough Turtle not me. Took 2 days off work for the install and still nothing. I was told that I could schedule on a weekend now after 3 employees told me the crew doesn't work on the weekends. I was told a new purchase order was done today although I have proof that says it was done on 8/24. Excuses is all I have received and still no turf has been installed. Let's see if they come this Saturday and even if they do I am scared it will be sloppy according to the other reviews and you've already inconvenienced me in the past so how can I trust you all now? The customer service thing to do would be to compensate the wasted time I've already spent and ensure the work is done properly but what do I know. I plan to give another update whether good or bad this coming weekend.Review fromRalph C

This was a small bocci court project at our home.
Tough Turtle Turf made a proposal with "Life time
Guarantee"
They rushed in a did a sloppy job with multiple seams showing.
We complained:
They came back and did a better but still sloppy job. That side of our house has second story windows. TTT promised that reflection from the windows would not be a problem.
With time parts of the turd burned from window reflection and we became aware that the ground preparation under the turf was loose gravel.
We complained again under their "lifetime guarantee"
They informed us that treating our windows to stop burning from sun reflection would cost an additional $1600 and that repairing the turf and ground prep would cost an additional $900.
We contracted the window treatment from the same vendor that TTT proposed to use for $500 and a complete redo of the turf installation for $1500. ($2000 total and less than TTT's original bid which we paid and also less than their additional proposal under their "lifetime Guarantee"
TTT refused to even talk to us regarding their disaster on our property.
TTT IS A SLIPSHOD RIP-OFF COMPANY. Do not do business with.

Ralph,
I am sorry you were unhappy with your experience with us, however, per the signed contract with Janet's signature on it, Janet did initial next to the box stating that you were aware we did not cover any burns that came from window tint reflection. We did email her a copy of the contract showing the signature, along with the part of our contract that does state this.
The vendor we use for window tint does operate as their own company, and we only provide the pricing that we are given by our vendor to our customers. If they chose to provide you with a smaller quote, I do understand, and am glad you were able to get your windows tinted.
