Gentlemen:I moved from *********, ** to ******, ** in December, 2022. Some furniture damage in the amount of $1,648.00 was found. Since I paid for 100% insurance coverage for the move I am asking for the full amount of damages. I didn't see any place to submit a damage claim on the Slater web site and submitted an email claim to Slater in February, 2023. To date I have not received any response from Slater. In April, I was informed (by a 3rd party) that I needed to submit a damage claim form and did so on April 21, 2023 (after calling Slater for the damage form). In receiving an email copy of the claim form, I found that I needed to submit the claim within 30 days of delivery. I asked for a waiver from this requirement due to medical issues that prevented me from doing any unpacking until February, 2023. To date I still have not received any communications from Slater.I was very dissatisfied with the way the movers did the ********* moving truck packing. They also did some damage to the ********* house during the move. I so informed ************** (Slater Transfer) by email in February and wonder if that is the reason he has never responded back to me.Thank you,*************************** ************************************************************ ************

Upon initial contact from the shipper regarding damages, he was made aware that it needed to be filed within 30 days after delivery.  Due to his circumstances, a claim form was sent to him for completion and was received in the mail in late April, 2023.

Contact was made via phone call to the shipper to resolve the issue.  It was explained that we are not liable for any damage to items that were not packed by our company.  Several items the shipper is claiming were self-packed.
Shipper was advised that in an effort of reconciliation, we are willing to settle on damage to a dresser, an item that was packed by our company and the origin property damage.

I am rejecting this response because: The shipper damaged the items regardless of who packed the items in the moving boxes/totes.  Three moving boxes and several totes were crushed/cracked and the contents inside were crushed/damaged.  However, I am willing to compromise to bring closure to the complaint.  I will ask for compensation on just the items that that Slater packed and forgo the items that I packed in the moving boxes/totes.  But the compensation is not just limited to 1 item.  Slater packed and damaged the following items: Office 3 drawer roll around file cabinet $350; hand carved eagle $75; 2'x3' picture frame cracked glass $40; hand crafted Christmas tree panel $25; and, wall damage by the movers $150.  The amount of these damaged items is $640.00.

    Sincerely,
