    On 2/8/23 my car was rear ended as I was waiting behind a line of cars at a traffic light, with considerable damage, both front and rear.
    After doing some research, my wife arranged to have our car repaired at FixAuto Reno, which is on State Farm insurance company’s “Select Service.” They couldn’t get our car in until March 13, so we waited, and then took it to FixAuto on 3/13/23, where it is still as I write this. Over 6 months! They couldn’t give us an estimate as to how long it would take, which I understand now. I don’t remember when we started calling to check on the progress, but early on they started telling us “2 more weeks.” In the six months it’s been in this shop, I estimate that we called FixAuto ten to fifteen times. While they did tell us about two parts that were on backorder, mostly they just told us “2 more weeks.” Obviously, after months of being told that, it ceased to mean anything, because it never once turned out to have any basis in reality. It was just their standard reply. One time, we found out that it was just one person doing the repairs, and I remember being told that he needed two more weeks to complete the job. That was months ago.
    We have tried to think of a way to get our car (a 2015 Toyota Highlander) out of that shop, but we were told that once FixAuto had begun the repairs, we were stuck. It seems that we have no means of extricating our car (and ourselves) from this ongoing saga of endless “2 more weeks.”
    All this time, and it still isn’t finished. 6 months and counting.
