1 starNevada Civil Rights Law of 1964 violation as well as presidential executive order of Feb 25, 2025 violations by Renown hospital staff The protocols through which staff communicated with me by phone nor the document signing parameters also required by the hospital protocols allow me absolutely NO ability to arrange to submit in writing for the legal protections I wish to have acknowledged and agreed upon. I believe the protocols referred to above were created to deny patients ANY legal control over what the hospital doctors, medical, & administrative staff are directed to do with and to you. I am in fact being denied a life saving and time essential heart surgery while all the hospital communications staff refuse to give me a hospital representative's name, position, nor communication access means. The best I got was "Ill check with my supervisors if that is allowed..." So I had to cancel my surgery date as well as pre surgery appointments due to these denials. I expect to die shortly. Please beware. This hospital has been predatory in a financial and administrative nature throughout the years I have been a patient in the Cardiac Unit.Review fromFrancisco S

1 starI was unexpectedly admitted to the Renown ** due to an incompetent PCP that Renown employs. Had he done his job over the few months that I was in asking for help, I 100% believe this visit could have been avoided. Once it was determined by ** staff that I had no immediate life threatening events or concerns recently, I was released on day 3. Almost immediately, the site of where they had my IV inserted began to swell. Not concerned, because the staff told me it would be normal. However, it got worse over the next few days and due to the reason I was in the *** I was concerned more than I usually would have been. We called to ask if there was a need to come back. All the ** staff could say was that it shouldn't be getting worse, but they couldnt tell me whether or not to come back. Again, less than a week earlier, blood clots were such a concern that they admitted me to the hospital. So I drove all the way back just to have it confirmed that the exact ailment they were trying to prevent, was the concern I now had. The IV had caused a blood clot. Surprise surprise, they billed me hundreds of dollars for that visit. For something THEY caused. I called to express my concern and how that seemed unfair. The 'manager', ******** *., called twice to discuss, but of course during my work hours. Her voicemails were snarky as if I was inconveniencing her by not being able to answer. I attempted to call back twice when I was able to, and she never answered, nor responded at a later time. However, she did find the time to send me a 'not our problem' letter in the mail. Including a statement about her having tried to reach out twice, as if I didn't respond. She also had the audacity to provide her number as if she'd answer. Lastly, she half read my initial complaint, confirming the *** DID provide necessary care. But the whole problem is just that, he DIDN'T provide ANY care. She dismissed absolutely everything I said. She's incredibly insulting, unprofessional and rude.Review fromAllison D

1 starI was sent to the infusion lab to get a RhoGAM shot after a miscarriage and was told there was a shortage and the only option I had was to go to the *** Went to the ** to be told they weren't sure if they were actually going to be able to get it for me. I waited there for over 4 hours, had to get a blood draw so they could do a pregnancy test to approve the shot for me. I have been trying to fight this ** bill because I did not need to go to the **, I was forced to so I could get the treatment I needed. they keep telling me well you voluntarily chose to go to the **, that is not true at all. If I wanted to avoid complications in future pregnancies I NEEDED to get this treatment. It's not my responsibility for the hospital to be equipped with something that women need every day in pregnancy and postpartum and I should not have to pay for an ** visit that wasn't necessary. The doctor and nurses in the ** and infusion lab were great, this is an issue with the billing and management of Renown.Review fromAnn L

1 starOn May 22, I was denied medical care at the Renown on *************** because I arrived early, but "not early enough". Staff humiliated me in front of other clients and called me a liar. I believe I was discriminated against, either due to my age or because my *********** Plus medical plan wasn't lucrative enough, compared to other plans. My appointment was at 9am; I arrived five minutes early, and I had checked in online the day before. I was officially checked in at 8:58, two minutes before my appointment. I took time off work for the appointment. Staff checked me in, then returned a few minutes later, telling me that my appointment was cancelled, because I didn't arrive early enough, that they have a policy that people must check in 15 minutes early. They could not show me a written policy or tell me where it was on the website, that an early 15-minute check-in was required. I explained that I had taken time off work and checked in online the day before in order to save time for everyone, to which I was told that I was lying and had not checked in online. After I went through a lengthy explanation of the time I spent checking in online, their next comment was that "online check in was not a real check in", even though the website said it was exactly that. I asked if they had given my appointment to another patient, and they said that the doctor was still seeing an earlier patient. It appears to me that this "policy" is made up by staff for their convenience, when they are overbooked or understaffed.Of the three staff members who humiliated me, I estimate two were in their early 20s, and the supervisor (I'm guessing) was in her 30s or 40s. Is this how Renown trains our young workforce? That it is okay to deny medical care and humiliate clients, because you are most likely understaffed and overbooking patients?Review fromDaniel Q

1 starI wish I could give 0 stars. This is the worst hospital system I’ve ever worked with. Multiple bills from multiple companies. Insurance refused to pay surcharges renown tried to bill. No communication of the amount you will pay. Bills aren’t received until a year later. This company is a scam. Do not go hereReview fromJames D

1 starI have made payments of what I could afford on 3 separate accounts and they still send to collections even if making payments. Horrible customer service from the billing department. Inpatient and expects people to pay thousands of dollars a month.Review fromConnie J

1 starI had a surgery scheduled for November 1st to remove a brain tumor. Sierra *************************** got authorization from my insurance. I went in for my surgery and they told me my insurance was supplemental. They then went on to tell me I have 100 percent the right to proceed with surgery and receive a bill. The administration also helped me file for emergency medical and we payed an 100 dollar copay. At every appointment they expressed how urgent it was to remove the tumor sooner rather than later because I was not having memory loss or speech problems yet. As I was took back to get prepped for surgery the surgeons came to tellme they recommend I do not proceed with the surgery because of the bill I would receive. I let them know I wasn't worried about my bill I was more concerned with my health and I wanted to proceed. I got prepped an ready for surgery and the surgeon came to tell me she didn't want to proceed with the surgery until she knew how and who would pay for my bill. The next day the *** of Sierra *************************** called me to tell me they don't care about the money. But they don't know if my insurance would cover post op care and that is why they didn't proceed. She stated they would still continue my care even though certain family members of mine got aggressively upset and wanted to file complaints. She stated my brain tumor is not an emergency but they are worried because it can aggressively start growing like a cancer and I can start having symptoms of memory loss and speech problems. If that doesn't sound like an emergency I don't know what would be considered an emergency. I let the *** and every doctor an staff at the hospital know I did not feel comfortable proceeding with treatment by the surgeons. I felt like the surgeons didn't care for my health or well being they cared more about the money. The *** stated that is not the issue but I need to come to a decision soon on my care. And that surgeons here in **** ****** may not want to take my care.Review fromJenny N

1 starI went to a Renown lab and asked how much it would cost to have my lab order done. They gave have me the cost, and I signed their papers. A week later I get charged 200% more in charges. I called to explain what happened and they said what I signed was only an estimate and I am stuck with the now slightly discounted bill which is now about 180% more than my original charges. This is totally unacceptable and a very poor business practice.Review fromPatricia H.

1 starI would like to address my most recent stay in your facility and the Emergency Room process that preceded my stay.On the evening in question I was very ill, to the point of not being able to stand, sit, effectively communicate, or even walk without assistance. It was later determined by the blood tests that I had sepsis due to an untreated UTI.The E.R staff kept stating that I needed to sit up in a chair, however, I was entirely too weak and sick to do that. I was throwing up every 5 minutes or so and had been for a while before coming in so you can imagine I had little to no strength left in my body. After many lectures about sitting straight The staff finally brought me back to another area, kind of a hallway between their offices. I was still unable to sit. I would have thought when a patient arrives that is too weak and sick to sit or stand there would be a little more compassion instead of lectures. I was treated like a nuisance. When I was finally offered a ****** to lie down on my husband helped me onto it and at that point things became much easier, I was still throwing up and pain was starting to radiate through my lower left side of my abdomen but at least I wasnt relegated to the dirty floor any longer.A lady arrived to take me to get a CT scan; I was weak but able to walk slowly with help. As we left the room she suddenly turned and rudely stated to the staff who was standing there that I cannot scan this (her words) like I am some sort of an object instead of a human being in need of emergency care. I am not a this I am an adult woman who deserves compassion when seriously ill, not mockery and disdain.I am very disheartened that your ER staff treated me like a nuisance instead of a 54 year old woman with sepsis who came to your Emergency Room for help because I was too weak and sick to take care of myself.I am now sick again - their antibiotics are not working and I am too afraid to go back because of how awful I was treated.
