On 12/31/2022 I booked a stay through VRBO and on 1/2 received a confirmation about my stay from 1/13 - 1/22. I also received a confirmation for my keys in advance of my reservation. My PayPal account was fully charged for the location at Kramer's Midtown through ReserveStay. On 1/13 when I was leaving SFO, I reached out to the host listed on the VRBO listing asking if I could potentially check in early. After 17 hours, of not hearing anything and while en route to Reno, I called several times and left messages finally at 4 pm when I was scheduled to check in I was able to contact an emergency after-hours number to find out the owner was not accommodating any reservations. I was never contacted about this situation, nor was VRBO. When speaking to the person at the after-hours I indicated this was a fraud and told me it was not, however, the host (Chris F***) advertised a property on VRBO that was not available, nor canceled my reservation with advance notice or informed VRBO and I was charged, this is FRAUD. All the person at Kramer's Midtown could offer was for me to contact VRBO and it was their fault. VRBO is trying to help me, but this situation left me stranded with nowhere to go on a busy 3-day MLK weekend. I had been planning this trip since 12/31 and decided to combine a ski trip with my pet's vet visits. I travel with 2 dogs and am displaced even with VRBO trying to help especially on a sold-out weekend given the bail and switch advertising this corporation should be investigated. VRBO had no communication and when trying to resolve the situation attempted to call Kramer's Midtown (Chris F***) and was unsuccessful and I'm basically stuck out in the cold. Can you imagine showing up at your confirmed reservation only to find out you didn't have one with 2 dogs and nowhere to go and try to find something? Totally unacceptable and others should be aware of these poor management practices.
