      NGB does the bare minimum for its tenants. We had issues from day 1. We were given the wrong code to our apartment and couldn't get in. We were told that we had to get the mailbox keys from the post office. The post office said NGB gives the keys. This went on for a week before NGB gave us a single mailbox key. We have had issues with smoke in the building, smoke coming into our bedroom and bathroom. They responded twice and then I guess stopped caring as time went on. I and my daughter have allergies. I have asthma. It is a health concern. This is supposed to be a smoke free property. They don't remove leaves in the fall. In the spring the grass grew up to my knees. In the fall we had mice and had to pay for pest control ourselves for over $300. In December a dog pooped in the hall. I reported it and no one responded. The poop sat in the hall for at least 4 months. This is by no means paradise. It happens to be an ok apartment with central air and heat in a quiet neighborhood. The building is mostly secure with key and code access unless someone leaves the door open. In June we received a notice of non-renewal. When I asked why they said the landlord wants to go in a different direction. This is retaliation for the complaints. I sent an email explaining my daughter will be starting PreK in the fall days after our move. This would be 2 adjustments for her. The last 2 months have been quiet and the smoke has been non-existent. We have new neighbors downstairs and they seem great. We have paid the rent on time every month except 1 which was paid the 6th versus the 5th. I paid the late fee as it was my fault for forgetting, not a financial issue. I enrolled in auto-pay for the following month until I got the non-renewal. It's not fair that they can non renew for no good cause. They're retaliating because they want to do nothing as management. Just want stability for the time being especially after surviving a shooting at our previous apartment causing us to move here.

      ********* ************* was very vocal since the day she moved in about her dislike of the apartment and management company. She was verbally abusive to our staff on many occasions. No one should be spoken to with such hostility and hatred when they are just trying to do their job. She was very clearly unhappy and expressed this often. We spent hours responding to and working to remedy all of her complaints. No amount of work will please her and our staff absolutely should not be abused further and met with such deep and threatening hostility.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have nothing more to say about this business except beware. They are liars and completely unhelpful. They do not want to be held accountable for their actions or lack thereof. 
      Their response is full of lies. They are liars and cheats. I have never ever spoken to anyone in an abusive way and certainly never threatening. I've only corresponded with someone from their team over email. I have attached as many emails as I could showing I didn't speak to them in any abusive or threatening way. I have every correspondence back and forth from the month we moved in through the non-renewal. I don't wish for them to do anything with myself or my family. This company is bad news if they have to lie on tenants as their defense for not keeping the property in good condition for the peaceful enjoyment of its tenants. The only reason people stay here is because the rent is cheap. They're lower than the entire area- outside of low income housing. That is for a reason. We are happily moving out soon.

      I am a tenant who has been notified of lease NON-renewal in violation of Albany city local housing law (F) aka good cause law, which prevents landlord from evicting tenant without a good reason. I believe this is a retaliation against me since I had multiple bad encounters with the property management since I forced them to do heating repairs and lease amendment correcting their faults. Unfortunately, I have been notified by the property management that my lease will be terminated on November 25th, which is 5 days after my pregnant wife's due date. To make it even worse, my wife has trouble walking because of an accident she had during pregnancy and now she is on physical therapy. This is a shock for me as I have always paid my rent on time and never had any problem with the other tenants and kept the apartment in an extremely clean condition. I have tried to communicate with them for a solution, but they keep misinforming me about the property laws, threatening me of eviction and eventually stopped responding to my emails when I showed I am familiar with the law.
