We hired Brent to complete a gate for us that was beginning to fall apart. He created the gate too short to fit comfortably any type of vehicle and the post began to bend less than 7 months after being installed. When approached about correcting the post, he sent a crew to piece together 2 by 4 pieces of wood to shim it in place which was inadequate for what we had paid. When asked to come back and replace the post, he wanted an additional 750 to replace the post and set the distance for the gate to what it should have been the first time. We went back and forth to try and work out a deal including us repurchasing all the new parts but he has since ghosted us. We've reached out through texts, calls, local neighbors etc. We are looking for him to come back and do the job the right way and own the mistake.

The person filing this complaint is not the homeowner….the size of the gate was discussed prior to installation and the customer agreed with the size installed. I did several jobs for the homeowner after this job was completed. Never received any callback for over 1 1/2 yrs or longer I was under no obligation to go back but I sent my guys back to repair the gate and it works well and is completely functional

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Rachel has the deed under her name but her and I are together and Brent in the past has addressed us as such. Rachel can be contacted directly to verify this information and I can submit her information if need be. We both have the same address and I have valid ID and bills to verify that information. We mutually pay for bills and projects. There are three texts shown that are part of many text messages and phone calls that we have saved. The first is Brent verifying that he would come over August 8th of 2023. The third picture verifies that the time line Brent is presenting is false. We reached out to him on May 11th. This was 9 months later, not even a full year when we had asked him to come look at the fence post. At that point he had sent out his crew to make "repairs" which clearly validates that his workmanship was not up to par. He added a few 2 by 4 pieces of wood and put a lock on the bottom of the gate which can only be accessed from the inside. You cannot open the gate from the outside. He is incorrect on that notion and we can send a video if need be to prove that the gate is not functional/operable from the outside. The second picture is more disturbing and part of a larger issue. After completing the fence, we felt that he could be trusted to help us install some pavers. We had a general conversation about how Rachel and I eventually would want to expand the driveway. We did not talk about costs or a time line or set anything in stone. He took it upon himself to do it without asking and then charged us on the back end for the labor. He is known for this type of behavior and unfortunately we were left with the short end of the stick before truly knowing what type of contracted work he was presenting to do.

    Regards,
