We signed a contract for a new septic system on Jan 1, 2022. In May the contractor came and brought equipment and started the project. After the first inspection, the town required a different grinder pump, so work was stopped. In the meantime the contractor left a mess of dirt and gravel, and also cut the electrical line to our barn. I called him every week to see when the job was to be completed and he kept stalling saying he couldn't get the pump. Then he told me that he got the pump but it was the wrong one. I called him again on Monday, Aug 29, and he said that he wanted an additional $7000 to install the pump. In the meantime we called Watkins Supply where he said he got the pump, but they informed me that he never ordered it, only priced it. We are seniors in our 80's and my husband is an invalid. He has taken advantage of us, and we still do not have a functioning septic. I do not want him back on our property. He is a miserable human being, and we are going to contract with someone else to complete the job. We desperately need your assistance.

    Business Response

Called the business and this was relay:

We were doing the work and was 3/4 of the way done, the inspector came in and told us to change some things and we did and complete what the contract stated.  When I asked to be paid, the consumer stated that she was not going to pay until the work was completed.  There is probably another $3,000 worth of work to be done which was not in the contract and I decided to walk away.  It's not worth it.  The consumer owes me $4, 000 for services provided.
