    My boyfriend and I attended 11 weeks straight of couples counseling with this practice. We came across a family emergency that caused a financial issue, due to this we had to cancel one appointment. We let our counselor know & immediately we’re told that due to cancelling over financial reasons they had to close our account. We had no warning where we could potentially figure something out to make it to that session, she just closed it. We paid $125 a week for 11 weeks, so we wasted over $1,000 due to a life emergency.

    BBB spoke to **** at the business and the following was relayed: We are following our company policy.  Everybody is made aware of this policy when they sign up.  In fact, when they sign up they sign a document stating that treatment needs to be attended every week, regardless.  And if financial issues arise, then we cannot continue treatment because the treatment needs to be consistent in order to be successful.  Again, this is all explained when clients sign up, and they sign that they understand.  We have this company policy for a reason and we adhere to it at all times.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. 
    When we stated we had a financial issue due to an emergency we were given no warning that they would have to cancel. She cancelled and closed us as clients without giving us the opportunity to attempt to figure out a way to afford. We were not made fully aware of the fact that if a financial emergency arises that we would be closed as clients.
