Dear BBB Members,
In response to the complaint filed by **************** on November 7, 2024, we would like to provide details regarding the above-mentioned case.
*** ****** expressed interest in working with VC Renovations during the months of October. However, unfortunately, he did not comply with the agreements established, and the work performed did not meet the terms determined.
1. Failure to provide the material: In relation to the plastic sheeting project, *** ****** did not have the necessary material to complete the task as agreed. Since the material was to be provided by him, VC Renovations assumed the cost and responsibility of supplying said material in order to continue with the work. Despite this effort, the work did not meet the quality terms previously agreed upon.
2. Money at non-agreed times:One of the reasons why it was not possible to continue working with **************** is that he began to request payments outside the time frame agreed with VC Renovations, a request that the company refused to pay. This situation generated a breach of the terms established between both parties.
3. Inappropriate Language: ********* adopted an inappropriate attitude towards the company's general manager, addressing him in a verbally aggressive manner, using intimidating and unprofessional language. (We have the evidence but due to size issues it was not possible to upload it. If you have an email address to which we can send it, we will send it.)
Consequently, VC Renovations faced several inconveniences with *** ******, which forced the company to terminate his services and take the necessary measures to safeguard the correct functioning and professionalism within the work environment.
VC Renovations understands *********' concerns; however, it is unfortunately not possible to resolve his dissatisfaction. Because the work performed did not meet the agreed terms, additional staff had to be hired to correct the deficiencies, resulting in an increase in the budget originally planned for the project. In addition, *********' unprofessional behavior, both in the workplace and in personal situations, exposed the company to awkward situations, even affecting the CEO of VC Renovations. These situations resulted in increased costs in terms of labor and materials.
It is important to clarify that each team member goes through a rigorous selection process, managed by a VC Renovations administrator, who verifies that all workers meet the necessary requirements to participate in our projects. This includes the review of permits, documents, and experience, ensuring that we comply with both internal regulations and local building regulations of *************. Therefore, *********' claims regarding the lack of ethics of our company are completely unfounded.
On the other hand, over the years, VC Renovations has demonstrated its commitment, not only to excellence in work, but also to the ***************** valuing and supporting each member of our team, who are the engine of our success. We believe in the values of respect, integrity and professionalism, which guide our daily work. VC Renovations currently has a team of 15 direct employees and more than 10 subcontractors, mostly from the ***************** with whom we maintain a daily collaborative relationship.
We appreciate the opportunity to clarify these points and remain committed to offering quality service, complying with all legal and professional regulations.
VC Renovations trusts that the Better Business Bureau (BBB) will be able to investigate the real reasons behind the complaint filed by **************** and, based on the facts, help remove said complaint from our profile.
Sincerely,
VC Renovations.Initial Complaint

In December 2022, ***************************, of VC Renovations, installed a sink with faucet, quartz countertop, and a ceramic tile floor. After the work was completed, there was a problem with the tile grout coming out. **** arranged for some of his employees to fix the grout on 2 occasions. The last time someone from VC Renovations fixed the grout (May), I asked why the grout kept coming out and was told the tile was not installed properly. I explained that ****, his boss, installed the tile, so I wasnt sure why that happened. **** eventually contacted me and said that the grout was coming out because the tile was shifting and that the solution would be to remove the tile, place concrete slabs to stabilize the area, and then lay new tile. *** made numerous attempts over the last 8 months to have this problem resolved without any success. **** has either been unresponsive or has given excuses why he cant finish the work. Even when I have been very accommodating, to the point where I located, purchased, and picked up the new tile myself, he still has not fixed this problem. While I would like him to finish the job, Im not confident **** will finish the job at all or finish it in a timely manner. If he cannot finish the job immediately, I would accept a partial refund so that Im able to get the issue resolved.l through another contractor.Business Response

Formal response to the complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) by *** ***** *****, who filed the complaint on January 19, 2024. The purpose of this document is to provide details regarding a service performed by VC Renovations in December 2023, at the address **************************************************************************************************
The work performed was a kitchen renovation, which included the following specific items:
- Removal of old countertop and vinyl flooring.
- Covering of work areas for the installation of a new countertop provided by the client.
- Installation of customer-supplied tile.
- Installation of new countertop, including installation of new dishwasher.
- Installation of tile in the kitchen and refrigerator areas (without moving cabinets or dishwasher).
- Installation of Wonderboard or cement board, if necessary.
Important Note: The work does not include additional materials or tasks outside of what is specified. If leveling of the area is necessary, this work will be charged as an extra.
The total cost of the job is $6,000.00 plus sales tax of $532.50, and materials are provided by the customer.
The invoice with the number 1076 attached (in PDF format) was sent to the customer on December 1, 2022 to the email ************************ The invoice is linked to the QuickBooks platform, according to the agreed terms.
After the execution of the work, it was detected that the kitchen floor had an unevenness, which was not initially foreseen in the scope of work (as described in the Work Scope sent to the client). This unevenness required an extra charge to repair it.
Upon detection of the problem, VC Renovations attempted to resolve it on several occasions at no additional charge (on two occasions), with the goal of leaving the job completely finished and satisfactory to the client.
Although the company tried to coordinate the repair, it was not possible because *** ***** was traveling, as evidenced by an attached text message (in JPG format) and VC Renovations' work schedule did not allow the visit.
After several months, and despite attempts to contact by email (with attached evidence in JPG format) and by telephone (including calls and text messages to the number XXXXXX1253), no response was received from the client.
Finally, due to the complaint filed with the BBB, VC Renovations attempted to contact the client again, but to no avail. Attached is evidence (such as messages and emails) showing the communication attempts by the company.
Company Commitment:
VC Renovations is a responsible and committed company to its customers, recognizing the customer's concern and commitment to the job being well done and completed.
Solution Proposal:
- Schedule an appointment with the work team to provide recommendations on how to level the floor.
- Remove existing ceramic tile.
- Level the floor to correct the previously identified unevenness.
- Install new ceramic tile.
Condition on additional costs:
It is specified that the client will have to pay the extra costs to level the floor, which was previously informed in the Work Scope sent to the client. This condition is clear in the agreed terms and is reiterated in the message as part of the proposed solution.
Regarding the claim of $10,400 made by the customer, it is clarified that the cost agreed with the customer was $6,532.50, and that the company has no reason to proceed with a refund, additional repair or billing adjustment of the $10,400 amount.
Again, it is reiterated that the main thing is to create an agreement with the client so that the client is satisfied with our work as this is the mission of VC Renovations.
We look forward to BBB contacting us so we may handle this mishap as soon as possible.
Best regards,
VC Renovations.
