I hired this business to clear out a part of my backyard and lay a concrete patio. In the process their trucks cracked and damaged my blacktop driveway. They have not responded to my email requesting a resolution to this problem. Ironically they advertise themselves as a paving company yet their trucks ruined my blacktop driveway. I did sign a contract with them but nothing in the contract addresses damage that they might do to my property.

Our project estimator was on site when the job started. He noticed the driveway was older and not very sturdy. He explained to the customer that once concrete trucks go in her driveway, and the other machines used would damage her driveway. She agreed and even had us remove a section that was in rough shape. He also explained that we are not responsible for damage to the driveway and she has to opportunity to stop operations then, but told him she understood. Months later, she called to complain about the damage to her driveway. Our estimator again spoke to her and recalled the conversation they had. The next day, she fed a complaint and we made contact with her. We offered to seal and hot crack fill her driveway for free. We have been responsive to her every call and email. When you have construction done in your backyard, damage can happen to your driveway especially if it’s not in good shape to begin with.

I have a signed contract to pave a driveway for a fixed amount. On 4 Aug 2020, B.D.B. paving and sealcoating started the job, but did not finish and left the job without paving the driveway. Before they left on 4 Aug, they said I needed to pay 40% of the contract price and they would return to finish the job. On 8 Aug, I called to find out when they would return, and was informed they will not return until I pay an additional “mobilization fee” of $1200 on top of the contract price.
