4/23/2024 at 4:55 pm This is a Restaurants
Advertised price of the special Tuesday night is reflected on a preprinted sign as you come in with that date 4/23/24. price says $28.00 Pasta & Vino Feature Special... ( dinner for two).. We order that feature.
When the bill came it said $30.00 I called over the waitress and she said the price just changed and walked away. . I paid the bill ad left. Called the restaurant the next ay and asked for the owner (vic) or the manager. Manager got on the phone but would not give his name. I explained the situation and he said it states in the menu prices are subject to change. I pointed out that the sign at the entrance said no just thing and it had todays date 4/24/2024 and he stated it is in the menu. I pointed out If you walked in to ******* and it stated that prices are subject to price would that be expectable if the price changed was higher that the market counter price. He said no.

I hope you get back to me on this because this is fraud after you speak to the owner How much has he been over charging customers from the published menu price. Might be thousands yearly in fraud.

    Business Response

In response to the complaint :

We regret the situation the customer complained about. We recently updated our menus. With the menu update the prices changed. The person that does our postings and special sheets was unaware, the special sheets were a template that is used weekly. No one caught this mistake. The issue was not meant to be deceiving. I have attached a copy of the new menu detail. The manager stated that he did give the customer his name immediately. He was also unaware of the changes. The statement that this could be thousands of dollars in overcharging would mean we sold way more of this item in the period of new pricing then we could ever possibly handle. We regret that it was not handled better by the waitstaff. It was a huge miscommunication and handling failure. We have strong community ties and pride ourselves on being trustworthy and fair. We also struggle with training and staff communication. We do not think that a miscommunication should affect our rating.

    Thank you for your consideration.

I can get a copy of the invoice for the new menu if that would be helpful

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
My response  I pointed out one item from the advertisement at the door that was misleading.  On several other occasion I notice a different in pricing form the menu and the charged receipt.  My question is has the main menu been updated to reflected the other items on the menu if they where  updated , which is about 4 or 5 pages long or so.  example I recall the price of pizza was different  and the price of the antipasto.  but this was some time ago, but never brought it up at the time. I never brought up my observation  because I thought  about it on the way home.   I would like to have a conversation with the owner Vic.

    Regards,
