    This company quoted me 300 ft of blacktop to be installed. They quoted me $5 per square foot. They did the work and I paid them the $1,500. It was then measured by a third party and shown to only be 187 ft. I spoke with the owner Tristan and he assured me he would reimburse me. I was only looking for $500 of the reimbursement. Not the whole amount. He assured me that he would drop off the money on a Friday. And then it turned into that he would cash at me on Monday once a check cleared. He is no longer returning my phone calls or voicemails. I would just like the money owed me for the services that I paid for that were not rendered.

    I hired Royal Asphalt (Tristan Bailey) for new driveway to be done. He signed a contract that he will grade and compress the area and put asphalt with 1 year warranty. I paid $8500 as we agreed on the day he finished the job. As soon as it rained, water started coming into my garage because the driveway was not graded properly, was raised in the middle with slope coming towards the house causing the rain water come into garage. The house on top of hill, and only reason for water to come in towards house is because of improper grading on the driveway. I contacted Tristan, he came once and said he didn’t know how to fix but will come up with something. It has been several weeks, he tell me he is coming and then cancels or doesn’t show up. He doesn’t answer calls. Today he said he can’t fix the driveway sloped towards the house and won’t re-do that portion, even though that’s what the contract said and he was paid for.

    Royal Asphalt from Binghamton NY, installed a new Driveway at my home in May 2022. He estimated the job to be 32000 and the driveway was approximately 7500 sq ft. Was to grade the current dirt driveway add stone and 2 to 3 inches of asphalt with 1 year warranty. The day of install the owner said due to the slop and how winding the driveway is we should use a hardener in the asphalt. Cost would be about 1500.00 more but you will never have to seal your driveway and it will last a good 30 years. He said the hardener was something like 75.00 a bucket is mixed into the asphalt. Not knowing anything about asphalt we agreed to add a hardener at 1500. After they finished the job they came to collect the remaining payment. The owner sent his brother to collect whom said we owed 47000.00. I told him I never agreed to this and he said we used 200 buckets of hardener. At the time we paid him 36k for the job. It was not a day when we noticed cracking in the driveway he sent his helpers back whom heated and tamped it. They came 2xs and he came once to discuss the issues. By September we noticed the driveway cracking in several areas and called the owner and he kept saying he would come out and kept cancelling. Finally he blew us off and said this is not his problem that its a drainage issue. Had another Driveway company assess the issue and they said we do not have a drainage issue, Royal Asphalt installed only 1/2 inch of asphalt over dirt and did not properly prep the driveway and should of used stone as a base. In order to fix it we need to pay 20K+ to remove the existing asphalt then pay to regrade add stone and lay 3 in of asphalt. They also informed us there is no such hardener to mix in asphalt and that we were scammed.

    On November 16, 2022 royal asphalt created a contract to clean and repair damage sections of my driveway. A check was issued to the company for $1200 for the agreed-upon work. Unfortunately, the company failed to fulfill this contract and created more of a mess. Parts of the driveway are just lose pieces of asphalt. Other sections have already started coming off after just a few weeks. And the driveway was left a mess immediately after they left. I have communicated with the company and they had gotten me in touch with the individual who is in charge of the project. We have spoken on the phone and communicated via text. I have sent him videos and photographs on multiple occasions of the damaged areas. At this point, I can see that he has read my text messages but he’s no longer responding. I have attached some photos of damaged areas and a copy of the contract. At this point, I am seeking a refund as not all damaged areas were corrected and the ones that were corrected are already coming apart.
