    I hired Jason Gage to remove a large, older maple tree from my back yard. He started working before Memorial Day of this past year 5/23 after I paid 1/2 of the $3,500. He said he would finish before the end of the long weekend and I was going out of town so he wanted the other 1/2. So I paid the full amount but didn't receive any receipt, just the bank statements. He never finished removing the tree. I contacted him countless times and was so patient as he said he had equipment issues, I guess his **** steer need some replacement parts. He promised he would finish the job when the machine was fixed but never did. Part of my fence was damaged when he was removing the high limbs and he never replaced that. I paid him to remove the stump too. I contacted him several times each week for months and he kept promising me he would come and finish the job. He tore up my side and back yard with his equipment. He started getting rude in the text communications so I stopped and never heard from him again.

    On 4/7/23 Jason Gage, from Gage's Tree Service came out and bid my tree removal job. The scope of work was to remove one large Maple tree completely and trim another Maple tree. We agreed to do our own clean up. The amount agreed on was $2000. A $1000 upfront payment was required to start the work. He was paid cash. He said it would be 2-3 days.He started on 4/10/23 with the one that was to be removed. He asked for more money on 4/14/23. We gave him $300 more. He did not provide any receipts so I created one myself that described the scope of work and the money that was exchanged 5 days into the job. He read it, agreed and signed it. Throughout the entire job which is now in it's 8th day he has not worked a full day. He does not show up when he says he will. He damaged my garage, broke my granite patio blocks, and broke my deck stairs. 4/17/23 he was to show up at 12 noon, came at 3, left at 4;30pm saying he was getting a skid steer. I told him NO skid steer without proof of insurance, which he assured me that he had. I asked him numerous times for his insurance information. He showed up anyway at 8pm with a skid steer-no insurance information!! I was unable to get him to work during the day so I am not crazy to turn him away with a machine that will rip up my yard not to mention cutting a tree in the dark. I asked him multiple times for proof of insurance and he did not provide it. I have damages and he declines to finish the job because I threatened to burn his skid steer to the ground if he drove it onto my property without providing insurance. Obviously at this point, after 8 days of his lack of work, I was very upset. He abandoned the job taking $1300 for A JOB THAT IS NOT COMPLETE.
