Bohemia *** the absolute worst experience I've ever had. I would give it negative stars if I could. My adult pittbull was acutely ill, lethargic half his jaw swollen when I rushed him to the *** They helped me get hi. out of the car, strapped him to a ****** and wheeled him away... without me. I went in the front door where no one addressed me for awhile until a receptionist came to the desk and loudly said " your dogs a ************, who did to his ears?". I wasn't there for his ears, I was there because my baby boy was extremely ill, it took them 40mins to even bring me into a room where i gave his history, still thwy kept my dog from me. another hour before a doctor walked in and said " he won't let me exam him, we need to sedate him" I asked with what medication, spoke about xrays and said I wanted to see my boy first. They finally brought him to me. I spoke to him and said I'll see you very soon. 2 hours later ****************** walks in, shows me my boys Jaw xray and states " see this, it's all cancer. " he then proceeds to **** and walk out if the room. He returns 15 mins later annoyed and states his computer is acting up. he then shows me a chest xray " see tgis, it's all cancer, he is riddled with cancer. I'm sorry, you should put you dog" I didn't let him finish I said get me my boy now. He looked shocked and annoyed said " you really need to consider putting him" I again said get me my dog. 45 mins later they brought him to me. I paid $1350 took the radiologist report and i left, got home and called my vet hysterical. That night he was burning up, more and more swollen. My vet came the next day fully prepared to euthanize my baby. I handed the report to my vet said I couldn't even read it but that doctor had to be wrong. Well not a single mention about cancer to the jaw or chest. It was a root infection and he was septic. **** wanted to killed my dog and he never even reviewed the report. He should lose his license. Antibiotics, fluids and my vet saved him.

Terrible experience. The Farmingdale facility did not have a doctor onsite. The Bohemia's doctor reviewed my cat's x-rays and determined he needed to be hospitalized. *********** told us we would be dropping our cat off, wrong. Hours waiting, sick distressed animal, charged again, over $5,000 for both fiascos. I called @ 1pm the next day, our cat was on his way in for treatment, 4pm same story. The vet did call @ 6:30 we can pick our cat up. Already signing for 2 nights we opted to wait. Good thing, our cat was treated again on Sunday. The receptionist @ the Bohemia office has the wrong job, totally unprofessional and disrespectful. She suggested we check the reviews of another local facility and go there. Farmingdale posts signs emergency 24 hour care, they don't post we have no doctor onsite and you will take your sick animal for a half hour car ride too endure and pay for more incompetence.

I was physically assaulted by three nurses, two of them men, and the Cardiologist. I had to go to the hospital. All because I was beside myself that my dog was in heart failure, and not taken into the emergency room right away. The Cardiologist put my dog in ***** way by attacking me with my dog in her arms. She will be hearing from my attorney along with the rest of the staff. Stay away from this toxic place. I have a video to prove it.

I recently needed to take my Cavapoo here and was turned away. My dog had ingested a pill which was 5-HTP and immediately became severely lethargic. So I immediately rushed him to Atlantic Coast in Bohemia, NY.I had my limp dog in my arms he couldn't even keep his head up. As i approached the door I was told sorry we're closed and the person proceeded to lock the door. This business advertises that they are opened 24/7 365 days a year. When I returned home I call the Animal Hotline and was told to get him to a hospital as that pill was very dangerous to him. The representative recommended Atlantic Coast because they advertise 24/7 365 days a year and are close to my home. I told them what happened above. They were able to find me another hospital fairly close to my home. When i got there they attempted to induce vomiting but his system had already absorbed the medication so they needed to give him charcoal to get it out of his system. They also needed to hold him overnight with an IV because of condition. My pup I was told by the animal hotline and the veterinary hospital who did treat him that he could have died without treatment.

After receiving care one evening here for my cat, i was advised by my vet the next day that my cat should have received certain medications before being released and was now in critical condition. He was hospitalized and it was unclear that he would survive. It's been 2 weeks and thankfully due to my vet, he is on the mend - however, all of my phone calls to ACV and and a letter i sent to inquire about the care received have been ignored.

July 2021 we took our 4lb chihuahua (our baby) to Atlantic Coast emergency vet, his breathing was a little rapid, they put him in an oxygen chamber then told us to come pick him up after overdosing him with hydrocodone 5mg, we picked him up he was lifeless- as I drove home crying i went back with my kids and told them what did you do to my dog- they replied this isn't the same dog and argued with me. Finally they took him back in and he died there in my arms- They made and still make excuses. The dose they gave i confirmed with my family vet was toxic-The vet on call was in training and lived in *******-he was not experienced and should have never been in an emergency setting with animals that people love like their own child. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PETS HERE- Please we lost our baby we loved so much he was only 9 and healthy. We spent over $4000 dollars and not even an apology. These people have no heart or conscience. We will never get over this. I give a 0 rating
