On approx. 3/31/22 my car was serviced at Westchester Avenue *************** for an oil change. On approx. 5/22/22, my check oil/engine light came on while driving home from work and I pulled over to the side of the road. Subsequently, because this after business hours, the car was towed to my home (*** *******************, ********, ** *****). Over the next following weeks I made numerous attempts to have my car towed to a ******* dealership for warranty service - the car was not accepted until 6/18/22. Once ******* was able to perform diagnostic tests, it was determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to an oil leak that caused all the oil to run out of the car. Pointedly, this oil leak occurred as a direct result of an improperly installed drain plug - the drain plug was improperly installed by Westchester Avenue *************** (**** Westchester Ave, The Bronx, ** *****). I received an email/memo from ******* stating the above, then I re-visited Westchester Avenue *************** to request for the company to cover the expense of replacing my cars engine. On 7/16/22 (at approx. 11:45am) I spoke with a supervisor by the name of ****. **** informed me that I was beyond the (60) days period, therefore my car was not warranted/covered. I explained to **** that the initial incident occurred within the (60) days period, that I had needed to wait for my car to both be accepted and given a diagnostic test prior to being informed that his company was at fault - due to the improperly installed drain plug. **** reiterated the (60) days policy, provided me with a copy of my receipt, and we ended our conversation. The car referenced is a gray, 2018 ******* Ioniq Hybrid, license plate *******. The cost for a new engine to be installed is approx. $8,800.
